and she was so supportive, offered to refer me on the NHS but I would have to wait 2 years so am borrowing from my savings to pay for it at the Nuffield.

Have also told my parents now, I was worried at how they would react, but it was ok. Not entirely smooth, but ok.

yes I'm having a band fitted at Leeds Nuffield on February 22nd. I think my mum would rather I tried to lose weight without surgical intervention, but I know this is the better option for me.

Hi Morph, your mum is probably just worried for you, she will come round. Good luck with everything and lots of banders on here will give you help and advice if and when you need it.
