Still suffering

Well I still have the pain. It eased last night and I don't remember feeling it through the night but got up this morning and it's just as bad as yesterday.

I can't eat anything because each time I try the pain is worse.

I'm going to ring my surgery first thing tomorrow morning and I should get in to see the doc before 10am. Means missing the gym but that can't be helped and I wouldn't feel up to much exercise with this pain anyway.

I need to see the doc anyway to get my BP checked. Remember it was quite low the day I came home from hospital? The Spire said they would ask the GP to follow it up and keep an eye on it. I completely forgot and nothing has ever been said about it since. Well I got quite dizzy in the sauna last week and someone said that can happen if your BP is low. So I'll get them to check that for me. Kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

Try and get some rest today Karen.
Keep us posted and if you are in pain today... there is always the out of hours service... don't be suffering!

Love and hugs xxx

Hi Karen

Am in same situation, by pass 5 months ago without a hitch and losing fine with no problems until day before yesterday. Went to a funeral and after had a small piece of dry scone which i havent tried before as there was nothing else but cream cakes and pizza. Well after about 30mins i got the most unbeleivable pain in my stoamch that I have never experienced before. Tried to go to toilet and couldn't and was left doubled up in pain. Eased off alittle and I took paracetamol and went to bed when I got home. Had really bad night in pain and can only get comfy with me knees up under my chin (Good job I've lost some weight LOL). Got worse yesterday and rang Alex hospital where I had op done and they told me to see out of hours doctor as its over two hours drive to them from where i live. Saw doctor who examined my abdomen and said she could not feel anything wrong and as my stomach was not distended I was given the choice of home with co-codemol and go to a + e if it got worse. Did not eat much yesterday or today as it does seem to get alot worse after food, very windy but get no relief from it. Am going to my own docs tomorrow as I feel it could be gall bladder attack after fat in scone although I have never had it before. First time i have paniced about my surgery as I have never felt intense pain like it. Still in pain today but not as bad as yesterday, co-codemaol working better than paracetamol.

Hope you feel better soon and at least we know we are not alone. Xx

personal question i know kay but are you going to the loo regular? I got pain and it was down to constipation cos everything backed up. as soon as i 'went' the pain went too xx

Sorry to hear you`re still in pain :( Good luck with the drs x

Hi Kay - Sorry you are having such a rotton time of it.
Always surprises me how after so many months after surgery, suddenly problems with eating or digestion surface, does`nt always seem logical.

Hope you recover from this real soon.

Also Sally hope you improve as well very soon.

Take care hun x

Love and Best wishes Kat x

My sis in law had a band fitted last year and was diagnosed with gallstones 2 months ago. She is having the gallbladder removed next week. So I asked her and she reckons this is how things started for her.

My upper tummy swells from time to time (I mentioned this in a different post on here last week) and apparently that is a symptom of gallstones. So I have more than half the symptoms listed I reckon.

Will see what doc says tomorrow but even if it is gallstones I will have to suffer and wait - they wont do it as an emergency and the waiting list here is about 3 months.

Thanks Karen Xx
Stomach starting to swell again but have taken lactulose on advice from Alex hospital to rule out constipation !! oh well at least my husband will be able to move me now if I become a cripple cause he couldnt before, always a bright side LOL

Hi Karen and Sally, sorry to hear that you are both in so much pain. I really hope that your GP will have an idea as to what is causing it when you see them tomorrow Karen.
Sending you both lots of hugs and love.

Karen, my first thought was that it could be gall stones...

When i suffered with them the pain was intense and the only way i could ever describe it was i'd lost all of my upper skeleton, it was like i had no ribs, like they had just collapsed. I remember feeling sick, hot and cold and just wanting my bed, being unable to lift anything, which was not good as i had two children under two at the time...

Get yourself to the docs even if the pain has gone tomorrow and tell them all about it and get them to organise an ultra sound scan for you xx

My upper belly is swollen bad tonight.

The bright side for me is that my weight loss should be good again this week as I've hardly eaten today - eating makes the pain worse.

Karen have you tried just having liquids again to see if that helps your pouch to settle and reduce the pain? I know that someone recommended this a few months ago when someone else was having a lot of pain. If you can't eat, try and keep your fluids up so that you don't dehydrat.
