I am only 3 weeks post op, but normally when someone asks a question like this the more experienced bypassers ask what you have been eating on a typical day to make sure you're not doing something wrong, hope this helps, Karen x
At 9 weeks out your ‘weekly’ weight loss will lesson to around 1 ½ - 2lb per week . . . this is mainly to do with your body adapting post surgery. Disappointing or is it . . . ? If you were told a few months ago that you would lose on average ½st per months I am sure you would have been delighted (that is 3 stone off by Christmas! ! !). Sadly you profile does not state you starting weight or loss to date nor do you comment on your intake, exercise regime and alike. There will be plateaus and ups and downs before you reach you goal weight but you will get there. xx
it possibly has nothing to do with what your eating or not eating......because at first you are on so few calories your body tries to hold on to everything to protect itself.........ensure u have lots of fluids and lots of protien. I will start again soon. but it will stall again from time to time xx
Weight loss stalls are very common through out the post op period as your body tries to get used to the less calorie intake. Your body will try to hold on to everything that you eat as it thinks it's in starvation mode. The best thing to do is, weirdly, eat slightly more. But make sure it is high protein and low carb and low fat foods you're eating and keep up plenty of fluids. I'm not suggesting you go over board but maybe have a look at how much you're eating and check with your surgery providers post op eating plan and see if you're meeting the right amount necessary.
Welcome to the losers plateau club (lpc). If you follow the wls rules then there is no reason why your losses will not resume. Our bodies just like to let us think they are in control at times. Keep on plan and prove it wrong...
In the meantime also make sure you are having lots of fluids and keep your protein intake up
Thanks for the replies. Very much appreciated. I still haven't lost anything in 2 1/2 weeks. I think I might not be eating enough and am definitely not getting my protein in as I'm still sick so much after eating meat/fish etc. See my dietician tonight so wondering what she will say bout it.
Hi, thankyou for all your replies. They are very much appreciated. I still haven't lost anything in over 2 weeks. I think I might not be eating enough and am certainly not getting my protein in as I'm so sick after eating meat/fish etc. I see my dietician tonight so wondering what she will have to say about it.
