I have not had a very good journey so far with wls in fact its been terrible.
I had my pre op on 22 September and i am still waiting for surgery.
I have been very down about the whole situation.
I was given 3 dates but they were provisionally and have all been cancelled.
The explanation given was because of the flu epidemic, cancer, and elective patients, so there is nothing i can do about it.
This journey is so hard isnt it? and iv been told that even when i do receive a letter with a date it could be cancelled on the day if there isnt a bed.
The pre op went ok...just involves blood test, urine test, heart tracing, loads of questions ect ect...nothing to worry about honestly.
When do you go for your pre op?
I was put on the list around the beginning of August after losing 18lb as the surgeon requested. Have you done that already?
I was also told i was having the op at the beginning of Dec, then was told around the 16th December, then the 6th, 13th and 27th January..they have all been cancelled.
I dont have a date at the moment iv got to ring the secretary back at the end of this month and see what she says then.
Sorry its not good news from me Claire but im only being honest.
This has taken over my life and i have been really low because of it all.
