Hello all you kind people..
Im hoping people on here would be kind enough to share your experiences with me..
Here goes..Im currently hoping to have a gastric bypass,Im going to Dr Ammori's clinic shortly,Ive almost done all my tests.
But since I been doing my research Ive been having sleepless nights, going over and over things in my head.
I understand this will be one of the most important things I will ever do.
Theres a few things that having playing on my mind, and hope someone can shed light onto them for me.
Im so frightened about loosing my hair(Ive fine hair)Ive read the selenium and vitamins really makes no difference, whats hairloss like after having the operation?
And after the operation..is the daily weighing and food intake hard to follow?
Do you ever go on to leading quite a normal eating habit ? like a healthy/normal person would eat, does your body ever allow you to do this?
I mean I have read about the dumping if you cheat with sugar and fats..but can this happen with normal everyday foods like bread etc..
And also how do you post op people feel say 4 weeks on? do you have any aches or pains ?
Does you body ever allow you to be social again, does your body allow you to have a glass of wine(not that I hardly drink, but wanted to know)..

Me at the minute I know I have about 10 stones to lose..so most days I just feel like rubbish!
my back hurts, hips hurt and my heels on feet....just yuk!

Do you ever get days when you feel GOD what have I done..or do you feel its the best thing you have ever done?
please tell me all the bad things and good things, and if anyone can help with my questions(I might get a nights sleep..haha...
Please can you lovely people help..I thank you in advance...it really will make a huge difference to me...xxx

Hello all you kind people..

He's one of the best. You are in very safe hands and we have several members who were operated on by Mr Ammori. To my knowledge, none of them have had any complications.
Ive almost done all my tests.
But since I been doing my research Ive been having sleepless nights, going over and over things in my head.
I understand this will be one of the most important things I will ever do.
Its normal to be worried about whether we are doing the right thing or not. This is a major life changing decision. Do all the research that you can.
Theres a few things that having playing on my mind, and hope someone can shed light onto them for me.
Im so frightened about loosing my hair(Ive fine hair)Ive read the selenium and vitamins really makes no difference, whats hairloss like after having the operation?
Honestly, during the phase when the hair is coming out (which for me started at about week 8 and continued till about 6 months) I thought I was going to go bald. Every time I brushed my hair there was a handful. Every time I showered I had to unblock the plug hole half way through. But actually, I didnt go bald. No one even noticed but me. I took a multivit but nothing specifically for hairloss. Although it seems horrendous - it isnt, and it stops eventually.
And after the operation..is the daily weighing and food intake hard to follow?
The regime immediately post op was tough. It varies from surgeon to surgeon so Im not sure what Mr Ammori's team recommend. For me it was 4 weeks liquid diet, followed by 4 weeks puree/sloppy food before progressing to a normal diet. I can (and do) eat anything now.

Do you ever go on to leading quite a normal eating habit ? like a healthy/normal person would eat, does your body ever allow you to do this?
As above. I eat whatever I fancy now. My portion sizes are around the same as my 5 year old. Because I can eat less, I do tend to make good choices most of the time as I eat for nutrition now instead of comfort eating. I do however also have the occasional treat which I know a lot of people disapprove of, but I have said before, I had a bypass to be normal because all of the diets I have ever tried have failed. I never want to deprive myself of anything again.
I mean I have read about the dumping if you cheat with sugar and fats..but can this happen with normal everyday foods like bread etc..
I am lucky (or unlucky, depending on how you view it) but I have never dumped.
And also how do you post op people feel say 4 weeks on? do you have any aches or pains ?
I was back at work after 4 weeks and was pretty much pain free from memory by this time. You should prepare yourself for being in a fair amount of pain immediately post op though.
Does you body ever allow you to be social again, does your body allow you to have a glass of wine(not that I hardly drink, but wanted to know)..
I've never been a big drinker, but do enjoy the occasional glass of wine now.

Me at the minute I know I have about 10 stones to lose..so most days I just feel like rubbish!
my back hurts, hips hurt and my heels on feet....just yuk!
I know that feeling well, but have now lost 7 of my 10 stones and feel incredible.

Do you ever get days when you feel GOD what have I done..or do you feel its the best thing you have ever done?
please tell me all the bad things and good things, and if anyone can help with my questions(I might get a nights sleep..haha...
Honestly, I have never ever had a moment of regret, but I do know people that have. For me it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. It's given me my life back.
Please can you lovely people help..I thank you in advance...it really will make a huge difference to me...xxx
You're welcome :) Good luck with your journey x

I had my op middle of march and I've definately had GOD what have I done days, as even though i have a lot to lose I seem to be losing very slowly. BUT I am losing and even though it is slow for me I feel so much better in myself already. I could barely walk to the car before and didn't go to the supermarket for best part of 2 years because I couldn't even walk from the car park to the doors unless we were parked right out front let alone round the store.
Even just a few weeks have made such a difference, I got to the supermarket every sunday morning and go all the way round, I walk to meet hubby part way home from work most evenings, 3 months ago the futhest I would have got was the front door. The last few days I have pegged washing out, something i haven't done for over 5 years, everything has just been bunged in the tumble dryer as I couldn't stand long enough to peg out.

I have fine hair too and so far it's ok, in fact seems to be in better condition that it ever has been in fact I would say right now I lose less hair that pre op.
I've only dumped once and now eat pretty much what everyone else eats just a lot less of it. This evening I had a bolognaise but instead of pasta I had half a small jacket potato, I can eat pasta I just don't enjoy it. So far the only thing i have found I really can't eat are eggs, but I was never a big egg lover anyway.
For everytime 1 time I think god what did I do there are 100 thoughts of it was the best thing I ever did!

Hi Emma Louise
I am one of Mr Ammori's patients. He did my bypass 8 months ago and yes i have to say next to my kids its the best thing i have ever done! Yes i was terrified not only of the surgery but also the "dumping" the wondering if i'll ever eat normally and how would i cope. Well i was so lucky, i have never dumped on anything, i've never had any pain nor any complications, the first 6 weeks were hard emotionally and i underestimated how difficult that would be. I just wanted solid food, but once that passed it was fine, i now enjoy almost anything i want to eat, i can go anywhere and my confidence after losing 8 stone is high its a whole new life! S o good luck with your journey and there are lots of lovely people on here to help you along the way xx

PS i have very fine hair and i never lost any i took boots own skin.hair and nail tablets x

Hi Emma, heres my experience! I took zinc straight after my op and i had very little hair fall out even if it does i dont think it is ever really noticable. I've never weighed my food for me my new stomach did that! I could only eat what it allowed me to! I've only ever dumped once and that was from a slimfast shake 2 weeks after my op. Ive had a few occasions early on where food has got stuck through me not chewing but it soon sorts itself out. From around 5 months post-op i have been able to eat all foods including the odd takeaway and even sweets although i do keep them to a minimal. For example i can have fish n chips but where as before my op i would have had large chips, large fish, a saveloy and a buttered roll, now i have 6-8 chips and a 3rd of the fish before im full up, this i think has been the key to my sucess, never feeling like im in a diet and NEVER feeling deprived. Socialising is no different to me now and i even have the odd drink its just so nice to be able to do it in a size 12 jeans!!! Before my stomach was like a bottomless pit and now for the first time in my life i feel like a normal person with normal eating habits. Ive gone from 22 stone 3lb to 12 stone 1lb in a year, thats just over 10 stone and im the happiest ive been in years. It really is the best thing ive ever done and would 110% recommend it to everyone, if you get the chance of surgery Emma grab it with both hands!

As soon as I woke up I had a 'Oh my God what have I done to myself' moment and it pretty much stuck with me for 2 months. I hated every minute of it. But then again, I had problems and the weight loss didn't even seem like a good compromise. But now I'm very glad I've done it. I can lead pretty much a normal life now and can eat out, it just involves a little more research as to ingredients with the food I'm about to eat. I've got used to asking if there's any sugar in things or asking how much fat is in something. I can go out and eat a sandwich with my mum, I just can't drink a cup of tea at the same time but I work around that.

Pain wise after 4 weeks, I was still uncomfortable but not enough to take pain killers on a regular basis. Paracetamol was enough to take care of any niggles I had.

I never weighed my food post op, I could manage half a tin of soup so I knew that was as much as I should have at one time. The first time I ate I only had a few small spoonfuls and I basically just licked it off the spoon. Your tummy will tell you when you've had enough.

Hair loss is quite disturbing but it hasn't bothered me much as I have quite a lot of hair anyway. I have been using the Hair, Skin and Nails formula of vitamins in the hope that it will help but it hasn't.

Hope some of this rambling helps. xx

As I am pre op also, and have been having a lot of the same thoughts and worries, I would like to thank the people that have replied to this thread. I seem to go from wanting the bypass wholeheartedly to being scared and wondering what I am doing putting myself through the surgery.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts everyone, it really has helped xxxx

Another pre opper and very interested in the answers.

By the way I have already bought a wig..... just in case and its lovely.:)

I had my op with Mr Ammori at Salford Royal Hospital. He is fantastic & has an amazing team so you'll be in safe hands.

Hello all you kind people..
Im hoping people on here would be kind enough to share your experiences with me..
Here goes..Im currently hoping to have a gastric bypass,Im going to Dr Ammori's clinic shortly,Ive almost done all my tests.

I've taken 2 x Silica complex (holland & barrett) from day one of my op and haven't noticed any significant hair loss.

And after the operation..is the daily weighing and food intake hard to follow?

Just the sheer boredom of liquids for 3 weeks got to me, but it soon passes, then 2 weeks on pureed and 2 weeks on soft foods. I now eat a wide variety of foods and only ever got sick when I didn't chew enough.

I don't weight any foods out & I don't calorie count. I do keep an eye on how much protein I'm eating just to ensure I eat the right amounts of it.

Do you ever go on to leading quite a normal eating habit ? like a healthy/normal person would eat, does your body ever allow you to do this?

I eat anything I fancy, just smaller portions than I used to.

I mean I have read about the dumping if you cheat with sugar and fats..but can this happen with normal everyday foods like bread etc..

Only had a slight dumping episode when I mixed 2 scoops of protein powder instead of 1 in a drink early on - I can eat fruit (tons of it) and don't have any problems.

And also how do you post op people feel say 4 weeks on? do you have any aches or pains ?

I had one incision site with an infection which lasted till about week 5 - no significant pain from the op at this time. The worse pain for me was trapped wind (they pump you full of it to do the operation by key hole) - I won't lie, it was bloody awful and I've never experienced pain like it. But it was gone by 2-3 days after the op.

Does you body ever allow you to be social again, does your body allow you to have a glass of wine(not that I hardly drink, but wanted to know)..

Some people say you get drunk really quickly after the bypass. I'm not a big drinker, but when I went to my brothers wedding in April I had more than a few wine & sodas and it just had the usual affect on me, I wasn't blind drunk after 1!

Me at the minute I know I have about 10 stones to lose..so most days I just feel like rubbish!
my back hurts, hips hurt and my heels on feet....just yuk!

I had 7st 5lbs to loose to get to a healthy bmi - I've currently lost 4st 3lbs since my op on 1st Feb 2010 (10lb of this was on the pre-op diet)

Do you ever get days when you feel GOD what have I done..or do you feel its the best thing you have ever done?

When I was in really bad pain straight after the op this is the 1st thing that popped in my head, but I can honestly say that this is the best thing I've ever done for myself (should have done it years ago)

please tell me all the bad things and good things, and if anyone can help with my questions(I might get a nights sleep..haha...
Please can you lovely people help..I thank you in advance...it really will make a huge difference to me...xxx

Wishing you the best of luck with your journey. If you have any more questions keep on posting, we're all here to help. x

But since I been doing my research Ive been having sleepless nights, going over and over things in my head.
I understand this will be one of the most important things I will ever do.

Yes it will be one of the most important things you will ever do. And important things take up lots of our time effort and mental consideration. There is no getting around that. It will involve sleepless nights, moments of terror and morbid thoughts. You are on a journey and you can't see what is around the corner, so you imagine what it will be like.

Im so frightened about loosing my hair(Ive fine hair)Ive read the selenium and vitamins really makes no difference, whats hairloss like after having the operation?

I have had some hair loss. Not so much to frighten me, but enough to worry me. As it is a side effect of the 7 st 9lbs and 6 dress sizes I have lost, I consider it a price worth paying. I haven't taken the supplements. Others on here have and have had good results.

And after the operation..is the daily weighing and food intake hard to follow?

No its not hard to follow. It is a personal thing. Just take each day as it comes.

Do you ever go on to leading quite a normal eating habit ? like a healthy/normal person would eat, does your body ever allow you to do this?

I haven't gone back to the way I was eating, which of course was not normal. I can go out and eat, I can eat all good stuff because I want to eat good stuff. A healthy normal diet is what I have. I feel full all of the time.

I mean I have read about the dumping if you cheat with sugar and fats..but can this happen with normal everyday foods like bread etc..

I thought I had got away with dumping, but I do dump and I am bloody grateful for it. I consider it a brilliant side effect. Stops me binging, keeps me on the straight and narrow (quite literally)

And also how do you post op people feel say 4 weeks on? do you have any aches or pains ?

I had my op on the 28th Jan this year. My body doesn't feel like anything was done to it.

Do you ever get days when you feel GOD what have I done..or do you feel its the best thing you have ever done?

I admire my courage and tenacity going through this process. I have really doen myself a huge favour. I have had some absolutely crap days though. Had pain, depression, sickness, I would even say I had under estimated the impact on me the op would have. But now, I would do it again tomorrow. It's not easy, nothing worth having ever is.

Hi I had my op a year ago and nor regrets other than wishing I didn't need it. Hair loss for me was heavy and started at 6 weeks going to 6 months but even though a lot came out it was never baldness. Its coming back well now. I took slicia and my hair andnails are in great condition but can't say it helped stop loss. Still take it because I like the condition effect.

Post op I had some problems with adjusting but very ninimal and 9 stones later I wouldn't change a thing. I can eat anythng now and could pretty much by 3 months. I do drink occasionally. I dump occasionally too but little.

I was a weigher, control food portions person but at 13 months out don't do that and to be hnest wish I couls get back to it as if I graze I can eat loads and I'm not wanting to do that but find myself slipping occasionally

Hiya,

Mr Ammori was my surgeon too - at Spire - he is excellent and you are in great hands!

Im so frightened about loosing my hair(Ive fine hair)Ive read the selenium and vitamins really makes no difference, whats hairloss like after having the operation?

I've got really fine hair too and it was quite thin BEFORE the op so I was worried about it. I have lost quite a bit of hair if I'm honest. It started coming out after about 3 months and I lost a lot of hair for about 6 weeks. It seems to have settled down again now. Although I can tell my hair is thinner no one else has and I dont really think you can tell. Mr Ammori gave me forceval and some liquid selenium to take as well.

And after the operation..is the daily weighing and food intake hard to follow?

No not really. To start with you'll have to follow a liquid diet and then gently go back to solids. After that the main thing to watch is sugar and fat levels so you don't have dumping etc. Other than trying to eat generally healthily you'll be limited to what your pouch can manage in terms of volume and also what it will tolerate. People seem to vary as to when they can have things like rice and bread.

Do you ever go on to leading quite a normal eating habit ? like a healthy/normal person would eat, does your body ever allow you to do this?
I mean I have read about the dumping if you cheat with sugar and fats..but can this happen with normal everyday foods like bread etc..

The only time I've had dumping is when I've had something stupidly sweet. I cannot tolerate anything caramelly or too sugary but I am fine with cake, biscuits, crisps etc. Which is a shame in some ways and means I have to make sure I try and avoid them. Otherwise you will be perfectly normal eating and you'll just eat less. We eat out a lot and with other people and I've managed not tell anyone outside family. You just have to think about what you can manage and how to best fill that tiny tummy.

And also how do you post op people feel say 4 weeks on? do you have any aches or pains ?

I was sore the first week and it was uncomfortable sleeping. But after that I recovered quickly. I was back at work after 2 weeks and by 4 weeks I was feeling great.

Does you body ever allow you to be social again, does your body allow you to have a glass of wine(not that I hardly drink, but wanted to know)..

You'll find you are a cheap date after the op. One glass of wine and I'm tipsy now.

Me at the minute I know I have about 10 stones to lose..so most days I just feel like rubbish!
my back hurts, hips hurt and my heels on feet....just yuk!

I was the same! I had 17 stone to lose and my back, legs everything ached. By the time you're 4 weeks you'll have lost quite a bit of weight, with the pre-op diet and the liquids only time it will drop off you and you should be feeling much better.

Do you ever get days when you feel GOD what have I done..or do you feel its the best thing you have ever done?

This is definitely the best thing I could have done! I have not regretted it once, if I have a regret it's that I didnt do it 5 years earlier.

please tell me all the bad things and good things, and if anyone can help with my questions(I might get a nights sleep..haha...

The good things are that now I can do much more. I can go out with friends and not worry about how far I'll have to walk or whether there will be some where to sit. I can go on holidays without having to get a seat belt extension and I can go to the cinema and out to places without worrying about whether I'll fit in the chairs and i can buy clothes without having to go into the dreaded Evans! The only word of caution I would give is that it is not a magic fix. I still have to stop myself from trying to use food as a crutch. I cant over eat like before but I have to be careful not to graze.

Make sure you do plenty of research and you'll be fine. Mr Ammori really is excellent and if you need any help or support there's lots of really experienced people on here.

x

Im so frightened about loosing my hair(Ive fine hair)Ive read the selenium and vitamins really makes no difference, whats hairloss like after having the operation?I did have some hair loss, just finding stray hairs on my pillow, nothing major. I take Perfectil, I dont know if it makes a real difference, but I like to think it does!
And after the operation..is the daily weighing and food intake hard to follow? I found it quite easy to stick to the rules, i.e. four weeks liquids, 4 weeks sloppies etc, though a tad boring. For me the key was variety, and I still try to have different foods every day.
Do you ever go on to leading quite a normal eating habit ? like a healthy/normal person would eat, does your body ever allow you to do this? I feel quite normal, I eat most things and I love trying new foods.
I mean I have read about the dumping if you cheat with sugar and fats..but can this happen with normal everyday foods like bread etc..I have only just tried bread as I know others have had problems with it. It was OK. I dont dump (so far!)
And also how do you post op people feel say 4 weeks on? do you have any aches or pains ?Day 3 post op stands out in my memory, as I did feel bloated and full, but I took a mild laxative and felt great the next day! 4 weeks all my pain had gone and I felt great. I went on holiday to Wales at 10 days post op.
Does you body ever allow you to be social again, does your body allow you to have a glass of wine(not that I hardly drink, but wanted to know)..Cant help with this one as I hardly ever drink so haven't tried it yet.

Me at the minute I know I have about 10 stones to lose..so most days I just feel like rubbish!
my back hurts, hips hurt and my heels on feet....just yuk! Pre op I used a walking stick, could only walk short distances, took Tramadol for the pain. I have only lost a few stones so far, but can walk without my stick for longer distances and the pain is so much less.

Do you ever get days when you feel GOD what have I done..or do you feel its the best thing you have ever done? I can honestly say that I have never said that. The only time I have had any negative feelings is when I stall and dont lose anything for weeks, but I know that pre op I would have spent those weeks gaining weight. I am a bit different from the majority of bypassers in that I chose this procedure to improve my diabetes, which it has done and I am thrilled with the results.
please tell me all the bad things and good things, and if anyone can help with my questions(I might get a nights sleep..haha...
Please can you lovely people help..I thank you in advance...it really will make a huge difference to me...xxx
There is no doubt that this is a serious undertaking and I was very aware that once it was done there is no going back. I researched everywhere I could, I read everyone's diaries, which gave me a real insight to life post op.

I researched my surgeon and knew Mr Ammori had an excellent reputation and having confidence in him really helped me. I have had no complications post op, and in fact it has never felt like I had major surgery. I had my op privately I had real concerns about spending such a large amount of money on this, but it has proved to be the best thing I have ever bought!

I am a sleever,so it is slightly different, but I can honestly say that this is the best thing I have ever done for my health. At just over eleven weeks out I have already lost half of my excess weight and feel better than I have done for a very long time.

It's not a miracle cure, it's not the easy way out - it is a lifelong commitment to a new way of eating and exercising. Will you ever eat like a normal person again? If you mean will you be able to eat large meals, then probably not. You will need to make the right choices nutritionally - smaller portions of healthier choices. You'll be able to have the occasional 'treat', but you will still have to watch what you eat. If you eat junk, then you are more likely to regain weight and have other health issues.

My hair came out a lot after my pregnancies, so I have been worried about this (although it's not been a huge problem yet). The way I see it is, hairloss (although unpleasant) is not life threatening. Being very overweight is. Simple as that.

Four weeks after the surgery I was still suffering some pain, but I had been extremely sick after the anaesthetic and had also had an infection, so this didn't help. My energy levels were also still quite low, but everyone is different.

I have arthritis in my knee and have chronic back problems (I broke my coccyx years ago) and pre-op often needed at least one walking stick, sometimes two. I now walk on my treadmill for at least an hour at a fairly rapid pace every single day and have more energy than ever before.

A couple of things I would recommend: do as much research as possible, I have a whole bookshelf of pre and post op books, including recipes etc.
Secondly; join myfitnesspal.com to keep track of everything you eat and drink and record your exercise - it's an absolute godsend.

Good luck! xx

Im so frightened about loosing my hair(Ive fine hair)Ive read the selenium and vitamins really makes no difference, whats hairloss like after having the operation? I haven't had any problems at all

And after the operation..is the daily weighing and food intake hard to follow? No need to weigh daily, initially after the operation, things take a while to settle down but no problems at all a few weeks after

Do you ever go on to leading quite a normal eating habit ? like a healthy/normal person would eat, does your body ever allow you to do this? What is normal? I am eating more healthily now than a 'normal' person

I mean I have read about the dumping if you cheat with sugar and fats..but can this happen with normal everyday foods like bread etc.. You will have problem foods, the vast majority of people do. Mine is chicken. Makes my stomach gurgle. Is it a problem? No, you find new foods

And also how do you post op people feel say 4 weeks on? do you have any aches or pains ? Aches and pains, for me, started to go at 4 weeks +. Back to work properly and comfortably after 7 weeks

Does you body ever allow you to be social again, does your body allow you to have a glass of wine(not that I hardly drink, but wanted to know).. Why does being sociable have to involve drinking wine? I have been out for a dinner dance, ate a little bit of every 3 courses and drank water all night. Did I enjoy it? I had the best night I've had for years. Being sociable doesn't mean you have to drink. Alter your way of thinking, it will help.

Me at the minute I know I have about 10 stones to lose..so most days I just feel like rubbish!
my back hurts, hips hurt and my heels on feet....just yuk!

Do you ever get days when you feel GOD what have I done..or do you feel its the best thing you have ever done? Every day reinforces the fact that it's the best thing I have ever done. Would I do it again? 100% yes

please tell me all the bad things. The local McDonalds has had to lay off 3 members of staff since I've given up eating there

Its totally normal to wonder if ur doing the right thing, i had many reason to do it and many reason to back out, but in my case the pro's outweighed the con's
Theres a few things that having playing on my mind, and hope someone can shed light onto them for me.
Im so frightened about loosing my hair(Ive fine hair)Ive read the selenium and vitamins really makes no difference, whats hairloss like after having the operation?
i have only noticed my hair comin out for the past month and i dont take supplements as it the natural process and will stop soon.
And after the operation..is the daily weighing and food intake hard to follow?
i had to do 2 week liquids, 2 weeks soft/puree, musy then onto normal food but it hardly works out that way u have to do whats best for your body as were all different, i found the liquid stage very easy for the first week then borin but i lived off tea, coffe and ice pops for the first 3 weeks then moved onto soups but basically i lived off tea/coffee/ice pops for the 1st 3 weeks then mash for 2 weeks, i was a slower healer i think.

Do you ever go on to leading quite a normal eating habit ? like a healthy/normal person would eat, does your body ever allow you to do this?
yes i do, im still wary of eating out, but in doubt i go for salad, but usually i dnt like eatin out unless im with my bf (incase i get ill i have someone who knows bout my op with me) my portion sizes are small like the side of a small plate and i usually finish my food last even when peopl im with are eatin a normal size plate. when i go out for a coffee with friend they usually have a muffin or cake i just get a large coffee which fills me up lol.
I mean I have read about the dumping if you cheat with sugar and fats..but can this happen with normal everyday foods like bread etc..
i can handle foods with more fat but not good with the sugar as it goes straight thru me!! i think ive dumped once but not as bad as other have done
And also how do you post op people feel say 4 weeks on? do you have any aches or pains ?
I was back at work after 4 weeks and was still in some pain but i never once used painkillers, i have a demandin job so was bendin, but lucy i got put onto light duties
Does you body ever allow you to be social again, does your body allow you to have a glass of wine(not that I hardly drink, but wanted to know)..
yes i meet up with friends, have friends round for dinner etc.. u'll learn as time goes on with ur bypass for me, i prefer eatin at home so ill just drink when i meet people, i dont drink alchol.

Me at the minute I know I have about 10 stones to lose..so most days I just feel like rubbish!
my back hurts, hips hurt and my heels on feet....just yuk!
i have lost 7st 12lbs and i have another 5st to lose, i still have days were i feel like rubbish but i can now move thats the difference.

Do you ever get days when you feel GOD what have I done..or do you feel its the best thing you have ever done?
please tell me all the bad things and good things, and if anyone can help with my questions(I might get a nights sleep..haha...
Honestly, I totally hates my bypass i was so ill the day after i asked my bf to help me die (soz if its not want u wanna hear, i now know i was bein dramitic) as i was coughin up sum blood and couldn even hold water down for more than 2 hours, yes i hated my bypass and i hated myself but i got so much support on here and i gave my self time to heal and now..... i love my bypass i still have the odd days were i wish i dint have it but then i realise if i dint id still be a couch potatoe with all the aches and pains (stil have some but not as bad no were near) and i wouldnt be leadin a healthier life like i do now
Please can you lovely people help..I thank you in advance...it really will make a huge difference to me...xxx

it took me just under 2 months to notice the change in my body such as losin weight and when i had my bypass i convinced my self it wouldnt work but it has and i feel blessed i was given the chance to have it, with the first week of bein home i even googled if it was possiable to have it reversed thats how down and sad i was at the time but i dint give my self chance to heal so i gave mysdelf chance to accept the change ive made and now i love it, i think we can all prepare our self for the changes we know whats comin and what we have to do to help it progress but when ur doin it it can seem harder but remember on here u'll get all the support u need.
