surgical stockings

How long after your op did u remove the stockings.

I had band tuesday and have managed up to now but had to take them off.

Last injection tomorrow morning so should be ok now I think.

Walking around the house but haven't been out yet x

I was told to wear mine post band op for 10-14 days even if I was being fairly active. (10 being the real minimum they wanted me to wear them) But also told to remove them for about 30 mins each day, when showering and to just have that break from them, less than a week doesn't seem long

Did u have injections to do at home as well??

2 weeks seems ages. I've had a week of injections for DVT As well x

Yes two week of injections too.. not nice but better to be safe then sorry x

no, didn't need injections apart from the ones they did post surgery and before discharge, but even having had them, they still told me 10-14 days

I had thigh length ones!! as they did not have the knee length ones to fit . I have the knee length ones now for at home and have to wear them for 4wks!! and I also the dvt injections for the next month also. :cry:

Oh blimey! Didn't realise you have to wear surgical stockings for so long! Do the hospital give you some then?

I have lively green knee length ones to wear for 6 weeks!
They roll down in the night and hurt like hell in the morning :cry:

Yes I got given a pair to put on before I went down for surgery, and then got given a spare pair to come home with. Then the next morning the nurse said "I have a spare pair of stockings for you", so I ended up with another pair.

Blimey my nurse said 2 days! I took em off yest, had op on sat, do u think I should put em back on?

Just go by the advice from the hospital.

I was told to wear them till I was up and about on my feet???? Lasted as long as I could x
