Helooo im 3 1/2 week post bypass and was wonderin when i wil b able to tablets insted of dissolvable vitamins?

I have had tablets since day one :) And have no problems with them.

I was told when you move onto solids you will then be able to take tablets. Have you thought about chewable vitamins. Bassett complete a-z and minerals chewable are the only one's I took from the start as couldn't find liquid form anywhere and got told that chewable ones are fine :) x

I've had most of my meds changed to soluble or liquid ready for post op but one of them I'm having to give up as there isn't a replacement. I have a chewable multi vit ready for post op too.

Nellyphant, why are you having to give it up? My pregablin could not be given in any other form as it is an NSAID but I just open the capsule and put it into some milk. My wife did make jelly with them in- not a great idea! Instant whip may be better, also added it to yoghurt.

Liquid mess taste so bad, can not wait to go back to my 15 tablets a day, takes about 30
Mins to do all the liquid at the moment!

Because there isn't a liquid or soluble option. Not looking forward to giving it up as it's for pain/muscle relaxant. It is a capsule so I might try opening it up and having it that way. It might still be beneficial.

one thing I have noticed is that my antihistamine is not as effective as it used to be. Wonder if that's cos my pouch is like 'nope, not digesting that. Bite me'

Oh no that's the worse news possible. I'd be a wreck if that happened. Have you tried changing to a different active ingredient?

I was thinking of topping up with loratidine but my antihistamines are the strongest available. So not sure if that will make a difference. The other alternative is to go back to two a day.

My allergies are very bad though, at my worst I was taking two telfast, plus 1 loratidine plus cimetidine and still breaking out in hives.

Nellyphant, what medication is it? I could not live without my pregablin, it was never an option to just stop taking it!

Ooh that'll be nasty to withdraw off of while you're recovering from anaesthesia. My partner was on that - 3 month withdrawal period.

Hi soni
I was swallowing tablets at 10 days (ibuprofen) normal sized ones and they went down fine. The bigger ones i waited till about 4 weeks cos i was scared they would get stuck. Try and get small ones to start with and see how they feel, im sure they will be fine.

HI Yvessa what you allergic to luvva, i take fexafenadine every day, allergic to lots of things, animal fur, dust, aerosols, lots of airborn things, so pleased smokn was banned in public places made my life a whole lot easier? i have to top up when hayfever season is in full flow my best month is january, when its wet this time of year my eyes sart itching, nasal spray inhalers the works. xx

Telfast is fexofenadine ;) Same as you, plus I react with hives to extreme stress. This was 2 years ago when my dad had terminal cancer and I had just started a new job as an NQT. So it was a hard year and I had the most awful hives. normally one telfast is fine, but at that point I was on immense amounts of antihistamines.

Yve I was on fexofenadine prior to op and I m now on a liquid version that is just as good I have found so far.

Nellyphant my lyrica is for the same thing and as I said no way I could stop, would not be able to move, just having it in milk or yoghurt.
