Does anybody know anything about this PCT and whether they will fund people for weight loss surgery as i am going to see my gp on monday, i have asked b4 and the drs wouldnt refer me, so I am going to try again, my BMI is 42.

All PCT's should be able to fund wls provided you meet the local criteria. According to BOSPA your PCT simply requires that you meet the NICE guidelines. See here http://www.bospa.org/information.aspx?page=46 There is a lot of useful stuff on the BOSPA site to read before seeing your GP.


Provided you meet the local criteria, I don't think any GP should stand in your way. I would be so bold as to say " I meet the criteria, I understand the risks and I am willing to take them. I am not asking for your permission I am asking (if not demanding) that you facilitate the process by applying for funding or starting the process in whichever way the pct works."
