tech help please

i want to post a poll, ive followed the instructions from another thread that pierce put on explaining how to do this, but it just doesnt seem to work, anyone clever enough to explain how to do this.

This is how I did it

New Thread
Wrote in the wall
Checked the tick box for poll
changed number of options from 4 to however many I wanted
Put in the tilte
put in labels and a close date if wanted
post it and it worked
