SO I turn on the telly and ICU is on and it's a man with a gastric band with a stomach perforation...

Seems the surgeon might have nicked something in there and the stomach ripped open spilling the contents and causing an infection.

They didn't really recap so I had to piece it together.

Don't worry. All surgery have risks. But I personally know 4 persons who've had the band with no complications. Good luck and don't worry

Unfortunately that is one of known issues with the band, it is not common but does happen.
