The Runs!!!!

Hi,

Please can anyone tell me if its usual to have the runs after surgery?
Had my op ( plication ) on sat 27th and on thurs I started getting the runs. I thought it was because I tried milk (as a meal 150mls) so I went back to clear fluids only including bouillon which I had previously been ok on. It stopped briefly on Saturday but has returned this afternoon despite trying nothing new. The first attack lasted 24hrs and eventually I had to stop drinking completely to get it to stop. This left me shakey and dehydrated.
Apart from this, I am doing great.... Wind and pain all gone but the runs are making me feel exhausted and shivery.
Any advice welcome please
Thanks
Sarah :) x

I was told when I was hospital, that although most people get constipation, some people get the runs, and its perfectly normal.

it is a known side effect of having anaesthetic. It can of course be down to change in diet, I've been on fluids only since a fill to my band, but most of it has been yoghurt and milk an today my stomach has been very upset.
