Yes I have had it done almost 2 years ago now. Lost 23stones in total and my legs were very loose. The surgeon did a spiral thigh lift to get as much skin away as possible. This is where they start at the groin at the front of the thigh then cut in a spiral round to the inner side of the knee to 'hide' as much of the scar as possible but to pull up skin from as many areas as possible. Other lifts are a straightforward vertical cut and some (rarely) also have a lift along the upper outside of the thigh which means the scar is visible when in underwear or swimwear. The op was the most difficult of my plastics op, it involved many drains which I didn't find painful to remove but many do. Because of the gravity pulling on your legs and the fact you rely on them to move it was difficult to get mobilised and the first time the physios came and got me up I felt rotten but was OK the next day. My scars healed well and I had no problems. The residual scarring is massive but I had a quick peek today and they have faded quite well. If you are a short skirt wearer, well anything above your knee, they will be visible around the knee when you cross your legs from some angles or when walking but hey who looks. The results were fine for me and I was 80% of the way there I feel, I couldn't run to the lateral lift as well but having so much looseness I could have got a better result from having it as well. The groin scars were initially right in my groin but they have dropped over time and I do not like to wear swimwear as they are visible below it, however solved that this year with a very sexy skirtini which looks very forties with a halter neck and tiny skirt which is just long enough to cover the scars.
Just for the sake of completeness in my answer I would say that at the same time I had my op a young chap from the same clinic had it done. He had a lot less skin to remove and yet he had major problems with his wound breaking down. So much so he had to have a complete revision and his wound packed for weeks and weeks. This however is a potential problem with any plastics op and is just the bad luck of the individual patient not the skill of the surgeon. The practice I used have the highest standards and take so much care you get overwhelmed with it all but still he had the problems.
I hope that helsp pm me is you want any more or just to chat
