It is easy to always focus on the joys and sometimes heartache of being on the loosers bench with the emphasis being the WEIGH IN!

I too forgot about the reasons we get or have the surgery in the first place yes those dreaded comorbidity symptoms!

So I have taken stock today at 57 ( or even 63) days post op depending on which day of surgery i choose :8855:

Anyway since surgery I have not had to take any hypertensive meds was on 4 different tablets, have not had to take any diabetic meds was on two tablets, nor have I had to take any statins for my cholesterol ALL agreed with my various medical teams and my BP is that of an athlete, blood sugars and cholesterol are well maintained - Ok i have lost weight as well and can move and walk again but it is all about LIVING as well

well done - this op is truly life changing on so many different levels.

oh well done phil thats amazing!! :) xxx

Oh and I have not had to use Cpap either and am told I do not snore any more OMG I have just agreed to get the bus into to town on Wed Not used public transport for 15 years another first post op

Great isnt it?i stopped snoring right away!life just keeps getting better!

I am soo happy for you, Phil. I am only 3 weeks out but hopeful that my meds will also be stopped when I go to the doctors. That was my main aim for the op so am keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck on the bus, don't talk to any strangers, lol xxx

Karlos calls these NSVs-non scale victories, and they are as important as that dial moving down. I'm off my diabetes and blood pressure meds too, though inexplicably my cholesterol had risen sharply so I'm still on the statins.
I went to town on the train yesterday-and only took up one seat !
I can cross my legs now and buy clothes in shops that aren't Evans. And I don't snore at all )
All this makes the pain and being sick worth it-and thats without counting the nearly 6 stones I've lost now.
So you're absolutely right Phil, it's so much more than the number on the scale.
You are doing so well my friend, and could so easily be negative considering the unfortunate problems you've had post surgery, so hats off to you. You're a star
xx

2 tips for you Phil!

1 - Make sure you take plenty of change to feed the machine
2 - Don't sit next to the nutter. Spread out so he doesn't sit next to you.

There's a problem now- he can't spread out anymore-Phil's way too skinny to take up more than one seat !

OK Phil - plan B...

You have to pretend to be the nutter.

(and if you are too young to know the reference for this - Google Jasper Carrott and Nutter on the Bus)

insperational and well put.

:happy096:eek:h phil how well put ,it has really given me more insperation about this opp not that i needed any but your thread has made me keep my eye on the goal and i sooo want to be on the loosers bench with you all, not just to loose weight wich will be an added bonus but to get well again as you put it so well, i havent used puplic transport for donkey years also. have fun it will be a good experiance for you. and dont talk to strangers ha ha. thats if you dont want to that is.xxx
