I am approaching the end of week 2 of my fluid diet. thing is, when I eat my food, I always feel like I could eat more, I thought that my pouch would fill up quicker, and I should be feeling full, is this normal??
Sound advice, cheers Mark.Roch is right. I found a huge inconsistency in what i consumed newly post op. Some days I would drink a little and feel full and then others alot would go down no worries at all and i would feel like i could have more....
Be patient with it and dont panic. As you progress through your stages you will learn to listen to what your pouch is telling you and how to respond to it

I wouldnt say that I am still hungry, it's just that I feel I could manage more.some of the hunger could also be head hunger so as others have said try and listen to your pouch not your head x
Thanks, good advice.Ok, had a bit of a mental block early and thought you where on sloppies already. This is quite common on fluids and on purees. When the swelling dies down you will be able to fit more in your pouch. I was amazed when I was at this stage just how much I could eat. The firmer your food gets then the less you will be able to eat. I went from being able to eat several spoons of mash and gravy to eating less than a desert spoon of solid food. If you feel like you could eat more have a little bit more until you feel full. This is a tricky stage but if you listen to your pouch you will be fine x x

No, as far as I am aware, my stitches are disolvable.Thank you so much for started this thread and asking this question. It has been a week today since my surgery and for the past two days I have been feeling like I could drink/eat more soup and protein drink and I was worried that mt stomach wasnt small enough. Thanks to the replies on here I now know that it is normal. Like you I dont actually need more but felt I could easily have more.
Good luck with your sloppy stage.
Did you have your staples/stiches out yet?
