The terrible Whit trio all think alike Ellen :D:D:D:D, i know this sounds bad but if we do have it then in a way its good as it adds more clout to our funding applications, how sad is that lol.
How r ya hun , hope all is good xxxx

That's what I was wondering actually. Does sleep apnea count as a co-morbidity? And do they treat everyone for it or does it depend on the severity of it?

I think it depends on the severity of it and which pct but not 2 sure but it def will add clout am sure of that.
Everyone who has a neck size over 15inches for a woman and 17 inches for a man i think are tested xx

Hi Ellen, Camden pct just follow the guidelines, so it says on the Bospa site and this is the info i found for the nice guidlines.

Use the NICE Guidlines.

The relevant section that applies:-
Bariatric surgery is recommended as a treatment option for adults with obesity if all of the following criteria are fulfilled:
they have a BMI of 40 kg/m2 or more, or between 35 kg/m2 and 40 kg/m2 and other significant disease (for example, type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure) that could be improved if they lost weight
all appropriate non-surgical measures have been tried but have failed to achieve or maintain adequate, clinically beneficial weight loss for at least 6 months
the person has been receiving or will receive intensive management in a specialist obesity service
the person is generally fit for anaesthesia and surgery
the person commits to the need for long-term follow-up.
Bariatric surgery is also recommended as a first-line option (instead of ifestyle interventions or drug treatment) for adults with a BMI of more than 50kg/m2 in whom surgical intervention is considered appropriate.

Not sure where all the Whittington peeps have gone either!!! Though a lot of people are probably on holiday............not jealous at all!!!

Can I ask you guys about sleep apnoea?

Do you ever snore when wide awake? (I do sometimes) and do you ever have very heavy stifled yawns?..(only way i can describe it is like a machine gun of yawns in slow motion)...I sleep so badly...so maybe it's just exhaustion.

(((hugs)))
