She's looking fantastic now following her lap band surgery and is being very up front and honest about how unhappy she was with being overweight. She had her surgery with The Hospital Group.
good on her for explaining fully about how you have to work with your band and need to look at the psychological reasons behind overeating.

Bloody brilliant, I love her in Shameless! Such a sensible approach by Phil and Holly too. I loved it when she said about being able to avoid drugs, alcohol and cigarettes etc but you cant avoid food! I soooooooo agree, she rocked! x

Great to see this thread.

Before I had seen Shameless... I was in the duty free of Manchester Airport waiting to go to Spain... 2-3 years ago.

I couldn't remember what the limit was on cigarettes since a friend had asked me to buy them for him from the airport... so I turned to a lady who was around the same height and build as me standing at my side and said...''what's the limit please... for cigs these days?'' and the reply came ''sod it... the limit is just what you want it to be''... I roared with laughing and my hubby said afterwards did you know that lady... I said no... he said it's Tina Malone from Shameless...

Just the same, exactly as we see her on Shameless! Totally down to earth and lovely.

She has lost 7 stone, she looks amazing, has had her teeth done too by the looks of things. she does make me laugh, she is so straight talking! She has also just got married to a boot camp instructor last week and he is 20 yrs younger, now that is rocking it!!!!

Haha... I would have taken more notice at the airport if I'd known... I remember she had huge woollen socks on brightly coloured and short boots.... just as you see her on the telly... I bet she's doing great... she had the will and strength that I admire, hope she is happier for it. It certainly sounds good for her xxx

No probs Beverlie, there's also an interesting story about the family of the 'fattest woman in the UK'. She sadly died earlier this year but tells the fact her mam, brother & 13yr old son have also had gastric bands fitted.
