I have read a lot about the band, 3 weeks today.... and I am prepared for a long slow loosing weight battle and its fine but what I Wld like to know is the weight that u have managed to loose so far, have ever put it back on like u Wld have on a normal diet? Thanks

Hello there

I have not gained any of my weight back on ( I am at goal and got there 4 weeks ago roughly) I have lost 102lbs since November last year, I had my band in July 2010 but as my port had overturned I needed that to be corrected so I could have my fills and I began to lose weight in November 2010 and now have reached my goal. With regards to dietary etc I eat 3 meals a day balanced, there are some foods I cannot tolerate like eggs, bread products, rice, pasta etc, but on the whole I can eat anything ( In small doses of course, lol)and have a wide variety of foods - HTH all the best - Julie xx

Morning Ladies :)

Well.. since being banded over 2yrs ago, have lost 5stone, put a stone of it back on which was more due to incorrect eating habits whilst ill for almost 6mths. But when your body hits starvation mode - it happens. I've now re-lost 8lbs of that extra stone and am working on getting more off :) It isn't impossible to put right but can sometimes be a struggle to get back how you were. In total on my WL Journey - have lost 10st 2lb at my most from Jan 06 to present.

5 & half of this was on my own until a para-umbilical hernia appeared, got worse very quickly - and that was the reason for my referral for WLS. There are a lot of factors to take into account regarding any of the WLS options - but the biggest thing to remember is this...

'Everyone is different, everyone has a different rate of metabolism and therefore the loss of weight will be individual as is the person. NO two people will have exact same loss or issues along their journey. P.M.A. - wonderful 'tool' to use.. you just need to believe in yourself!'

HTH :)

I had my band two and half years ago and lost 6 1/2 - 7 stone to reach my target within 2 years.

Six and a half was to reach my goal but my weight fluctuates by a few pounds to a little more, nearer 7 stone.

My restriction is good and I have had no gains along the way to goal.

Stick to the band rules committ to a healthy eating and exercise programme and you will be fine :D

I have been banded for seven months. I have only gained once and that was 1 pound at easter.
Even when I think I have been 'bad', it's still probably a fraction of what I used to eat on a fat binge before my band.

thank you so much everyone, this is going to be THE ONE! no more yo yo dieting, no more heartbreaking when you realise you have put all the weight back on and more. I guess i am just really worried as we are coming closer and closer to the "B day!" and just need a little bit of re-assurance i can do this and will do this properly and not sabotage myself like i have done 100's of time before. :(
