Whats your secret to success

I had a band in 2009 and now a revision in Sep 13. I have lost 5 and a half stone and look and feel great but am terrified it will all go wrong.

Life is so good, I am so happy, what's the secret to staying like this!

Pretty much the same as getting to where you are now I think hon. Don't think there is a secret - just more bloody hard work.

5 years down the line I am healthy, well under what the surgeon expected but its bleddy hard work. I am 'on it' very day if I relax on goes the weight. Do I care...sometimes but mostly I accept it I was 35 stones I am now 10 st 10lbs and all plastics done what's not to like. Will this be the same in 10 years? Who the heck knows, we are all breaking new ground but good luck for your journey they are all different just do your best.

At my last app with the surgeon and dietican, that they was very happy at me maintaining my weight after 3 1/2 yrs since bypass, and I think one important rule I've followed to help me come from size 24/26 to 12 is not to eat and drink at the same time, and to follow 30 minutes rule.
I think following this has helped me keep my restriction very good,so I never over eat.

"We are all breaking new ground"...so very true x

6 stone off and weight loss is definitely slower. I still want to lose 2 stone. Any more tips?

I think there comes a point where we have to deal with the fact, our bodies won't shift anymore weight without real hard work!
My weightloss stopped at 15 months,I still wanted to lose 2 stones.
3 1/2 years later....,,I still want to lose 2 stones but it ain't happening!
Unless I focus 100% and put the hard work in,it may come off.
I'm happy at the size I am,but would love to get to a sz 10.
The only thing that I know works for me in the past(when I gained)hardly any carbs, protein plenty and loads of fluids along with plenty of exercise.

7 and a half stone off now for about 3 months. Seem to have plateaued. Very happy but terrified of regain!

Any tips long termers??

Your looking great!

Wow hun look at you! You have done tremendously well... Congrats :)
I plateaued for five/ six months on the scales but continued to loose inches and drop dress sizes. I don't understand the science of why but I wasn't arguing. I have recently started to lose again albeit a good bit slower but I put that down to the fact I have increased my exercise (walking & exercise bike). I was so convinced I had reach the end of my losses but one thing I learned was that it was also so easy to regain again.. and quickly! The odd treat now and then wasn't the culprit but I did find that grazing was.. Yes nuts are healthy. People say grab a handful of cashew nuts but I couldn't stop at one handful  & yes whole fruit while healthy isn't totally free calories so don't go absolute bananas with it hehe I found I was consuming a third of my daily calories just with fruit alone and on the scales I was up and down like a yoyo :(. Going back to my fitness pal it wasn't long before I cottoned on as to why .. Whoops

Thanks for the excellent advice. Grazing is easy and I do eat a lot of fruit! I don't really have any treats but I get my sugar fix from berries. Will keep an eye
