Hello & Yikes!! I am having a gastric band fitted tomorrow and have suddenly got the jitters!

I am now 15 stone 4lbs and 5' 4" .....can anyone offer me some reassurance??

You will be fine. ... all the best with your op. .. Keep us informed on your progress. X

Not a bander but just wanted to say hi, welcome, good luck and that you will be fine :) ..see you on the losers bench x

It's perfectly normal to be anxious.

I am the worlds worst when it comes to anything like this.

On the day itself I just got a weird calmness over me and kept slowly breathing and remembering why I was doing it. Now over 5 and half stone down from a size 24 to a 16 so focus on the results.

It is all a long journey and relish each stage x x

good luck you will be fine ...the losers bench as I heared it called are like royalty ..two birthdays.. your given one and your op one as it is the start of your life

good luck jo

I am not a bander, but just wanted to say good luck, hope all goes well for you. I'm sure you'll be fine. X

Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement!
Had the op yesterday and came home today. Feeling sore and tender but not too bad. As I hadn't eaten for nearly 2 days I weighed myself - I am 4lbs heavier than when I went in. Maybe its all the swelling and fluids I've been given.
Anyone else had the same? x

I think it's quite a common thing, many people I have spoken to have gained weight when they come out of hospital, and yes, I think it is mainly fluids and swelling. It will go soon.
