Trying to kill an infection fast !!!

Sharonimo

Sleeve to Bypass
Hi peeps. Well I've had an infection on and off since 13 December. However, the darned thing won't go away and has now gone onto my chest and become bronchitis.

Can't get to see my own GP until January so today I went to the MediCentre and got a prescription for Clarithromycin (strong antibiotics to fight bronchitis) and Prednisolone (steroids to help improve my sluggish immune system -- weak due to Type 2 Diabetes).

The firm I work for has private medical cover which includes consultations at the MediCentre Clinics.

MediCentre were great and the doctor understood exactly why I was so desperate to get rid of the infection when I explained I have my (bypass) pre-op appointment on 16 Jan.

However, at Boots a jobsworthy Pharmacist
queried the prescription and why the doctor had written down such high doses of meds! She refused to dispense the meds until she had phoned MediCentre to check !!!

Anyway .... all sorted now .... and I am about to ask my employer if next week is not too busy whether I can book the first 4 days of January as annual leave, in an attempt to rest and try even HARDER to kill this darned infection and bronchitis !!!!:argh:

hope you feel better soon hun nothing worse when ya can not shift it x

hope your well soon hun xx

oh Sharon :( i hope it goes away and you get well real soon xxx

Thanks all. Got the answer from work. Unfortunately I am needed next week (well most of it) as we are short of people on the ground, but they have given me Tues 3rd Jan off, and then I can do just 3 days next week (Weds 4 th - Fri 6th).

So that gives me a 4 day weekend (Sat, Sun, Mon + Tues) to try and rest more before returning for a short 3 day week next week.

Sending you all the healing thoughts I can muster! Lol

Hope you get better ASAP!! Xxx

Poor you. Bronchitis is horrible. You need to rest to let those antibiotics do their work so don't overdo it at work-in fact, don't go if you feel too poorly. It's good to move about a bit with bronchitis but do really listen to your body and rest when it tells you to. And drink lots !
Good luck hun xx

p.s. I ,touch wood, have not had any form of chest infection since my bypass, nor any sore throats and haven't been off work sick. This is a record for me. I think the fact that my liver enzymes are normal and I'm not taking dibetes and blood pressure meds has let my immune system rally for the first time in a decade. I'm so grateful
xx

Thanks, Miss Tickle. That's really good to know. I hope that 6 months after bypass my natural immune system will have considerably improved again. Just gotta get thru this one last infection first before I can have the op!
