uncontrollable burping... :-\

Has anyone else experienced this?? I was banded two weeks ago and have developed some uncontrollable and rather embarrassing burps! !
They are very loud and seem to roll up my chest and go on for ages... luckily my family and I have a weird sense of humour and giggle every time it happens but I'm really worried as I go back to work next week (in a high school) and if this continues I'm going to end up very red faced!!! Help... lol

I just got a fill on Monday and every time I drink something I'm constantly burping for for a few mins. It's getting unbearable. I'm also getting white foam coming up are you? X
 
No... that doesn't sound too pleasant though! It's purely the noise I'm making that's troubling me I'm sure the walls are shaking every time it happens!!
Have you spoken to your provider about the foam, could it be excess acid?
 
Also teach in high school, 5 weeks post op and burp in a most unseemly fashion even after drinking tea... My 5 and 8 year old think it's completely hilarious.... No useful suggestions for you other than although still frequent I am developing quite a good technique for doing it more quietly..... Hope it resolves soon... Also wind takes time to settle post op so it will surely get better..... I do have gurgling tummy too lol... Sadly I don't teach music but feel I could add some interesting sounds to school orchestra!! Good luck for start of term xx
 
I was the same for the 1st week i couldnt burp at all and afta tht i certainly made up for the week before they were never ending! Mine seem to b settling down a lot now im pretty much back to normal thank goodness : ) hopefully it should have settled by the time u go bk to work xxx
 
Haha queen it's going to be interesting that's for sure... iv just been promoted to managing sen team... I hope they all have the same sense of humour as me coz I find it hilarious too!!
I think I'll spend the weekend practising quiet belches... not hopeful lol :-X

Daisy, this shouldn't be happening. Either you are drinking too quickly, swallowing too much in one go or your band is too tight.

Please give your provider a call if it doesn't settle down x
 
You're really 'lucky' you're just burping, I am 4 1/2 weeks post bypass, and my wind problem is at the other end!!
 
Hi foam has settled down. Sadly the burps have not. I doubt I'm ever going to be able to go for a meal with friends. I feel so bad for my family xxx

That's not right daisy! Is it worth being so restricted you lose your social life? X
 
It's not the restriction that's the problem it's the burping.
I don't even know if I'm even at my sweet spot yet.
Had my last fill on Monday xxx
 
Yup! I have those. Even if I do not open my lips my family look at me and say ''what the?'' It gurgles up from my chest to my throat and is as loud as anything, like a rumbling stomach but louder and moving up my chest to my throat. I am 15 weeks out and it has only gotten worse not better. I guess just another thing I have to learn to live with, lovely! There goes my ''I'm a lady'' badge out the window :)
