I had my sleeve done on 05.02. weighing in at 105 kg. This morning the scale showed a 2 digit number for the first time in a long time. Not by much but still :D

Had my stitches removed just now and it all looks good. I feel great!
The liquid diet is awesome - no decisions to make, which is good for someone like me. As soon as I have a choice I start testing the limits and that's where the trouble starts...

How was your recovery from the sleeve? Any drama's? Also, is it true they only have 2 intensive care beds at the hospital?

Excellent! Can I ask how you are getting your daily protein intake in on liquid only diet? x x

So far not yet. It is really hard to get the required 60 g protein with just liquids - especially when you're like me and your sleeve doesn't like thick, milky liquids at first. Today (day 10 after op) is the first day I can really handle protein drinks. So now I'm off to catch up on my protein.

Yes, I think I read someone else who was sleeved was having the same problem with milky liquids so I guess I should expect the same :( Are things like skimmed milk not going down either? Have you just been on water? x

Milk has been fine since day one but nothing thicker/ richer (aka more protein). I was on diluted juice and broth for the last week. Now I can handle any liquids - including protein drinks. But it's still going to be hard to get 60 g a day... One protein shake has 20 g and it takes me like 3 hours to drink one

No drama for me :D
I really coulnd't tell you how many intensive care beds they have in Turnov hospital. Mine was a private room with plenty of space right next to nurses' station. They were available 24/7 and fast too. Very good care!

I am fascinated to read that lots of sleevers start on a liquid only diet. I was sleeved 24th Jan and had to be able to tolerate very loose puree before I could be discharged from hospital. To date, I have been having 4-6 small puree meals a day and haven't found anything (except with maybe the exception of undercooked reg and green peppers) that my tum is not liking. Its so strange that the different hospitls / countries follow slightly different regimes for both pre op and post op diet. Its so weird not to feel at all hungry too isn't it? I have to keep remembering to eat................a completely alien feeling for me! lol.

Brilliant Lamb, I had my stitches out this morning by my lovely hubby and feel so much better as the ends of the stitches stuck thru my clothes.

I was able yesterday for the first time to tolerate milky fluids and yoghurts again. Think I am finally on top of the wind problem. I actually felt hungry for the first time today, but a ramekin of soup soon filled me up. I am going to start trying to up my protein intake from today.
Well done on your loss too :)
