I have just plucked up the courage to call Dr New's secretary and what a difference a few weeks make she was so nice and laughing with me, explaining everything!! Just shows all of us can have bad days, but she was like a totally different woman!
Anyway the up shot is the letter should of been with me ages ago, it was typed up on the 28th and posted out but its not turned up here. She has today typed a letter ready for signing for my referral to Dr Amory (not sure how you spell that) the surgeon to speak with me and see if I am suitable for surgery. She explained that Dr New had wanted me to see a pshycologist and they have tried to find a specialist one and have trawled through the private sector for the area and are unable to find one that covers what he wants, so he appears to be missing out that bit. Why a special one for me I don't know but at least they are doing things for my best interest. He is asking Dr Amory to say if he thinks surgery would benefit me. The secretary said that whilst no funding was in place at present at least by getting most of the things done ie sleep apnea test, speaking to surgeron etc they then could write to the PCT and the letter would carry more weight. She agreed that if Dr New thought two years attending weight management was the right thing for me he would not off advised surgery. So still no letter outlining what he said but I will leave it a day or two and then ask GP's secretary to call and get copy faxed over. I have to say I am totally gob smacked at the change in this woman, I wonder if she was abducted and an alien was in her place last time I spoke to her lol...
