She had her band 3 weeks ago , was back to work 2 days after and lost 20lbs so far, She wants to get to a comfortable size 12 so has about 5 stone to go

Oh my just came arcross this article from Coleen Nolan about vanessa,

Loose Woman star Coleen Nolan has predicted that Vanessa Feltz's gastric band will be "no long-term solution" to her weight issues. Feltz announced this week that she had undergone the procedure.
Vanessa said that she is hoping to "lose about four or five stone" after the surgery.
Writing in her column for the Daily Mirror, Nolan said: "I think Vanessa is lovely and I so wish I could say that this will make her happy with herself and her size from now on.
"But I just can't see it! Because for Vanessa, like so many women, weight is less to do with calories and more to do with comfort."
She added: "I really admire Vanessa for coming out and being honest about what she has done.
"But I think it is sad when she says she just doesn't think she could lose weight on her own anymore without surgery. She has had a gastric band fitted - not a psychological fix.
"Vanessa clearly has an addiction to food and this operation will have done nothing to tackle that."
Nolan added that she feels Feltz needs to "think about why she really can't stop eating".
She added: " A band might be a quick fix - but it is no long-term solution."
Recently, Coleen vowed to stop worrying about her weight after years of "yo-yo dieting".

Hmmm, sounds like a touch of sour grapes to me. Colleen is right it will not cure the emotional side of over eating but there are other strategies to help with that ie cognitive behavioural therapy. Mean while the band will certainly help her to eat less.

I agree it does sound like sour grapes.

For me I'm hoping this band is going to give that all important kick start, helping me to keep the momentum of healthy eating and moderating the amount I eat. Good luck Vanessa.

Coleen is super-*****y, and quite clearly jealous. I think the band is a very important aid in overcoming the psychological problems associated with being obese.

My problems are pretty simple psychological habits, and the band will help a lot with defeating those.

Coleen has put weight back on after losing yet again,I wouldnt pass comment as she has about Vanessa.We have all been in that yo yo cycle, as Coleen knows all too well.

What a comment, i'm sure she's jealous that Vanessa is actually taken a positive step towards doing something about her weight. It makes me mad when people say surgery is a quick fix, the band is hard work!! Not an easy 'have it fitted and drop all the weight solution'

i think vanessa is FAB, shes so bubbley and outgoing, head isnt up her own bottom either, Cant actually imagine her being slim, but i wish her all the luck in the world

Yea me too. I remember when she lost weight years ago, she looked great but I know shes been up and down for years. I wish her all the luck in the world!
