hi every1 i had an idea about waiting times! i noticed people always ask about waiting times, so i thought if we all posted how long it took from gp referal-hospital appointment-funding-surgery it mite b helpful for alot of people old and new please put what hospital u r at aswell thanx all my wl family xxxxx

im at heartlands hospital, birmingham

gp referal- feb 2010

obesity clinic appointment- may 2010

monthly appointments with a dietician on the weight managment program

reviewed at hartlands- 8th nov 2010 funding applied for

funding granted-4th dec 2010

awaiting surgery date early in the new yr 2011

i hope this will b helpful 2 sum people xxx

GP referal - June 2009
First Appointment with Bariatric team July 2009
4 month cooling off period (this has now been scrapped)
Nov 2009 - Appointment to say yes I wanted to go ahead
9th Dec 2009 - Funding applied for
23rd December 2009 - Funding agreed
9th Feb 2010 - 1st pre op
16th feb 2010 2nd pre-op
surgery date 7th April 2010

sept 2010 - saw GP about plastics referal
Oct 2010 - appointment with plastic surgeon at Walsall Manor
14th Dec 2010 - pre op for labiaplasty, was put on waiting list for fleur de leyes tummy tuck
24th Dec 2010 - Labiaplasty surgery to be done

This is a great idea! I thought it took forever, but it appears I didn't wait as long as most.

GP referral end April 2010
First appts with dietician, group session and surgeon Aug 2010 (a very long day!).
Surgery and funding approved Oct 2010, advised op date nov 2010 for 21 Feb 2011!

I'm under Birmingham heartlands went to gp september 2010
1st appointment with consultant 23rd October 2010
Refered for surgery at that appointment
Seen surgeon 8th November 2010, who agreed on a gastric bypass and funding was sent for
Funding agreed 7th December 2010
Awaiting surgery date hopefully for early 2011.... Do not that long really but wen ur waiting it seems like a life time :-( roll on 2011 I say lol new year new start new me xx
