On Thursday I will be 4 weeks post op gastric bypass and now allowed to eat soft foods or what my consultant said 'squidge'.
She said I can have yoghurts.....but are these plain ones??
I had so many questions to ask and it was all a bit of a whirlwind!!!
Just need some advice of what I can have. TIA xx

Difficult to say as we don't know what advice you were given.

Did they not give you a list of foods? If not maybe you should call and check. As you've probably realised we all get given differing advice and no doubt bypass is different to sleeve. You will have to watch out for sugar content for instance.

Stressful.....they did give me a booklet and said I can eat certain things. But when I saw my consultant she said I can have foods that I can fork mash and stay away from beige foods. So no carbs but can have sweet potato and carrot mash with gravy, omlettes, Scrambled eggs etc it didn't quite match the booklet. Just feels a bit conflicting u know....x

There you go then. Lots of lovely choices.

If and when you do have yoghurt just be aware of the carbohydrates of which sugars. Lower fat ones have more sugar.

I've found since my sleeve I'm very sensitive to sugar - not a bad thing though. And with a bypass you could very well be too.

Enjoy xx

So I had one Weetabix for breakfast and only managed 5 spoonfuls it's so weird that before surgery I'd eat so much more.....getting my head round it all is tough.

Yes, its like learning a whole new skill - the brain has to process new information in its short term memory before it goes into your longterm, so it becomes second nature. Great for your food bills though - mine halved overnight, and just as well with all the regularly buying of new clothes!;):D:rolleyes:

Your so right. I feel it's a massive learning process and for me food was part of socialising.....that's quite tough. But getting there slowly learning what my body can and can't eat xx
