I am getting SO BORED of jacket potato with............. not that into bready things any more and really getting stuck as I would happily just eat fruit !!

Thanks for any ideas :)

Soup........ Vegtables blended

Weetabix, Readybrek

Yogurt

Its something different LOL

Salads! Just leaves with feta cheese, or chicken or tuna.
Yumm :D

Sometimes veggies or soup.

OMG I had forgotten about Feta cheese!!! YUM!
I can't face soup since my preop diet sadly plus I dont like meaty soup and am constantly trying to ram protein in!!

Weetabix etc - I have never been able to eat breakfast at any other time than first thing :D

What about wraps, with ham salad, chicken mayo, egg mayo, or just about anything! Yum!

Or pitta bread filled with bolognaise? or coronation chicken?

They both go down much easier than bread!

Cottage cheese . . . with sesame ryvita . . yum. Pate (make low fat version yourself with chicken livers, onion, garlic and creme fraiche it is very easy) on melba toast with pickles. A tinned Sardine or Pilchard (I like them but lots of people hate them) with a couple of new potatoes and salad cream. Any really thinly sliced roast meat (turkey, rare beef, pork and stuffing) all from the deli counter with crackers (ryvita or similar) or if easier have it with a couple of new potatoes. I find I can eat meat easier if I eat it WITH potato. Wierd but it works much better for me!

I have also made little cauli cheeses (in ramekin dishes) and also frozen tiny portions of spag bog sauce and chilli. Again these are easily eaten on their own or with a bit of a jacket potato and some grated cheese on top.

Puddings . . sugar free jelly with just a little elmlea on top makes all the difference!!

just had a rasher of bacon, all fat removed, grilled, 2 spoonsful of tinned tomatoes, and an oven baked hash brown. Yummy!

Today I had carrs melts cheese biscuits with philly (light) on and a little bit of cooked hot and spicy chicken. I enjoyed it but it got stuck lol.....it was there for about 2 hours  It eventually went though, probably ate too fast again!! I really need to slow down :D XX

Dotty have you moved from purees then? I suspect you might be going for stuff that's a wee bit too solid for you yet honey. Maybe stick to something softer, more mushy for a little while yet?
There's a half way stage between puree and solid. Stuff that can be mashed with a fork.

Im sort of a bit inbetween Charis, Im going into my third week of purees and the dietician said try as many things as you can....its really hard! I keep trying stuff but when I get something stuck I go back to something soft again lol....Im having savoury mince today and Ive had that and been ok so fingers crossed it will be a nice meal :D Thanks hun XX

i had me 1st bypass lunch in hosp today, pureed mash and mince lmao :D

You lucky girl Liz, I had 3 weeks on liquids ......enjoy your food :D XXX

i know ive realised that today reading some of the posts we have to be able to tollerate purree in hospital on day 3 before we are allowed home, so i guess i am very lucky, i will be on that for a further 3-4 weeks now x

Ive been eating:

Cut a pepper in half (remove all pips etc)
Sprinkle cheese on pepper
Cut up tomatoe, mushroom, spring onion (plus anything else you want really)
Place on pepper
Cover in cheese (my fave to cover is mozzerella (sp?) )
cook in oven till cheese has melted

It is so yummy, my mum saw it on cbbc while babysitting and told me. Its supposed to be a stuffed pepper but i cant manage a whole pepper (it takes me a while to eat what i do!) lol.

xxxxxx

I have Tuna salad most days

Small tin tuna in spring water, with the usual salad stuff but I add (Well I say I but in reality my darling other half adds it LOL) Lentil & Bean Shoots, and Alfalfa & Radish Shoots from Salisbury's. These are really tasty and make even the most boring salad interesting. I also have Salisbury's taste the difference deli coleslaw and mix the Tuna with Mayo

Might be too much fat for those trying to lose weight, but I'm trying to gain some so I get away with it
