What happens at the pre op appointment??

Had my pre op appointment through yesterday for 28th may just wondered what happens really also being admitted into hospital day before surgery is this normal??

usually pre op is bloods ecg weight height general stuff like that and some do admit the day before some on the day also welcome and good luck
