I have my date to see the consultant (I'm lucky enough to have NHS funding) at my local hopsital, can anyone advise me on what the next step will be? My appointment is 16th March.
Thanks
Nicky
I can only speak from my experience, but following the appointment with the consultant once he had decided that I was a suitable candidate for surgery I received my pre-op appointment approx four weeks later (details of that are here http://www.wlsurgery.com/wlsurgery/126316-pre-op.html#post2165488) and then another four weeks later I had my op.
I was an NHS patient however I realise that I was incredibly lucky in having such a short turnaround, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
I went into hopsital and had my bypass on the Tuesday and was discharged on the Friday. I was initially signed off for two weeks but took another two as I was still quite sore and tired.
