What happens on a pouch stretch

Can anyone tells me what happens when you have to have your pouch stretched, I was admitted to hospital Thursday and after a swallow test my surgeon said he wanted me to have the pouch stretched and I am waiting for an appointment for this to be done.

What do they do?
Are you knocked out when they do this? If not can I request that I am?

Hiya i have had a pouch stretch its an enderscopy they sedate you put a tube down with a small balloon on the end if you need stretching they inflate slightly and you are stretched. A little uncomfortable Nothing to worry about. janey

I've had two pouch stretches and like Janey said it can be uncomfortable but it's over and done with quickly. I had sedation both time which I do recommend if like me you have a sensitive gag reflex and also if they offer it, the throat spray. I had a sore throat after even with the spray.
