What other tests before Band ?

hello
well I just wanted to know what tests i needed before I have the band

I have had the phschological assesment and sleep anpea.

I have not had bloods or urine do I have these and if so what others
starting to get a bit anxious that its getting close to xmas.

my sleep apnea was a repeat last week do you think i should chase or just leave for them to get to me, it took them 4 weeks to tell me it hadnt worked !!! dont want to wait another 4 to be told the same !!

Helen I did'nt have to have the sleep test or the psyche test but my bloods and urine and everything else were done at my pre op assessmentxxx

I was the same as Gaynor, i didnt need to have any sleep tests or psych tests done, the only tests i had was blood and mrsa tests at the pre op assessment they didnt even ask for a urine sample. X

I am getting myself into a right mess worrying that the sleep apnea test didnt work again, I have heard nothing, I had the phsch assesment two weeks ago today and she phoned Mr Ammori's secretary while I was there saying I was ready for surgery, so how long does it take !!! I just want some sort of letter even if teh pre op is ontsh away at least i will know.
Do you have the pre - op weeks days or months before your op ?

I just phoned teh hospital and they say that the think !! the sleep test is fine this time as they have not been told otherwise so the results shoudl have gone to the consultant.
fingers crossed i hear soon x

I had my pre op 4 weeks before surgery if thats any help to you, if they have said that they think the sleep test has worked you could try and ring your surgeons secretary and ask them if they have any dates for you on there screens, its worth a go, sorry i cant be of anymore help than that X

well i have had a reply and i only went on the waiting list on 6th oct (and that is if i dont have sleep apnea that needs treating) they aim to do the op within 18 weeks so thats 4 months so thats means feb for me.
very dissapointed but hey thats life just have to get on with it.

I had my pre op in december 2008 and did'nt get my op till 18th may 2009. The secretary forgot me and it was only when I told her I was going to ring for another assessment that she booked me in and then asked me not to say anything otherwise she'd be in trouble. I think pre op assessments stand for around 6 weeks but I'm not sure Helen. I'm sure someone will be along to put us right soon. Good luck and stop worrying yourself otherwise your bp will be sky high and you don't want that at your pre op do youxxxxx
