what to stock up on

Welcome :)

I am 2 days post op, as I had my band fitted on Thursday, Im finding it very strange not to be hungry in the slightest and having to really try to get something inside me . . .before I had my op, I stocked up on chewable vitamins, but also some home made soups which I've frozen, milk and yoghurts and soft fruit to make smoothies. A lot will depend on what your provider suggests for your pre-op and post op diets :)

Welcome as for stocking up one of the most important things I took in was a mouth spray as after my op my mouth felt rotten
But as for each stage liquids would be good soups custard thin
Puréed I had home made soup and casseroles all liquidated one of my favourites is frozen yoghurts or liquefied melon placed on a try in the freezer
Goes like great slush
But just enjoy this time
Take care mark

I'm having a gastric sleeve done that day in Kings college

I made a chicken and mixed vegetable one (chicken, carrots, potatoe, celery, onions) and a sweet potato and parsnip one (has sweet pots, parsnip and onions in).

I had to puree one to try today for the first time post op, but I still had to add plenty of water to it to water it down. Soup isn't my favourite and although there were herbs and spices that I love, when I came to taste it today post op, it was very overpowering, I'm finding my taste buds super sensitive lol

I agree Kat - my taste buds changed quite a bit. I found I didn't really like the soups I usually (or my husband) usually made, and I really didn't like liquidated protein like chicken.

Lynette - I wouldn't stock up on too much - yoghurts, high protein shake like slim fast, In the end I preferred tinned soups to home made - Baxter Cullen Skink soup (if you like smoked haddock) is great blended, expensive but masses of protein. Just wait to see what you like or fancy. Liquid diet is okay but a bit of an odd time especially at start as appetite can be very disrupted at the beginning. All of this said, it is a fabulous journey and already I am feeling benefits and feeling more motivated and happy with me than I have in years. Tracey xxx

Is there a page with soup recipes or anything on here? It would really help people if there was. I'm pants at making soup turns out like grewl. Not even Oliver twist would be asking for any
