What will ahppen at initial meeting?

Hi there. I asked my GP to refer me for bariatric surgery. I have received an appointment through to see someone at my local hospital, but i don't know who I am seeing or what is likely to happen. I am in Scotland, can anyone help?

there are not many on from scotland, but if it helps here the first appointment is normally to talk through the type of surgery available and what is best for you. It may also involve meeting other members of the team such as dietician, specialised nurse or therapist, or even referal to a specialised weight loss clinic before accetance on surgical waiting lists.

Hi Angela, My first appointment was a group meeting. There was a dietician, a specialist nurse and a gent who had had the bypass. They talked about the different weight loss surgery procedures,pre op diets and post op diet. I dont know if it will be the same up in Scotland as I,m in England and its different for different areas. Good luck and I hope someone closer to you can help more.I did'nt just want to read and run.
