What will happen at my first appointment at W Manor

Morning everyone,
Just wondered if anyone could tell me what is likely to happen during my first appointment at Walsall Manor next Wednesday? Also what sort of things does the physcologist want to know? When will I be told they are happy to apply for funding? I know I am impatient but can't help it!

Hi Linski, I am at WM but i am a Walsall resident, so i'm slightly different, do you know if you will be seeing Mr Kendrick or Elis? If you see Elis he's lovely, just be yourself, i didn't see Mr Kendrick but i think Julie (aka phatmomma) has and she's more helpfull as she's from the Wolves area.

Thanks K8y not long for you now eh? I dont know who I am seeing tro be honest. Guess what I want to know is who I can expect to see surgeon, dietician, shrink etc?

Wish i could say, but i dan't want to say for deff just incase it's different for us Walsall folk.
You will at some point see Dr Heartland, he's lovely and will explain anything that you need answering, You MIGHT see Mr Khan, i did, but apparently not everybody is that lucky lol. xxx

Linski, at your first WM appt you will be weighed and have your height done. You may see Ana who is the bariatric nurse specialist and you will probably see Dr Hartland. They will both talk to you about your eating habits and what sort of operation they think will suit you best and explain how they work. It's helpful if you kinda have an idea of what op you want

After this appointment you will automatically have to see Mr Kendrick who is the psychologist, you will have a seperate appointment on another date for this. I never had to see him (only some patients did while i was waiting - however everyone has to see him now) but my husband did. My husband passed Mr Kendrick purely because he has made an effort to lose some weight and Mr Kendrick thought he had the right 'frame of mind' towards wls and the fact the head needs as much input for the surgery as the surgery itself....

After seeing Mr Kendrick my husband is just waiting for a letter to say he is on the waiting list. I have no idea how long this will take...
