Most of you will know me but for those who don't I went to cz for a grastic wrap in January and to cut a very long story short it never made a difference so I have continued to gain weight only lb I lost where pounds out of my own pocket. So basicly I am saving as much as possible and looking to see where is best place to travel to for a gastric band at a low cost as you can guess I have very little funds! I am just looking for someone who has had a band to recommend somewhere etc thanks

I really hope you get sorted Polly. Have you googled the wl hospitals in your area? If I had had my surgery over here i would have gone with the WLS group heres the link The Weight Loss Surgery Group
Good luck honey :) xxx

I don't know about the band but I'm going to Brussels for my sleeve on Sunday and the wlsgroup r fab! Always there and and questions very quickly! N I've had a lot o questions xx

I used the bariatric group (had my band in Bournemouth)and they have been brilliant - defo recomend x worth every penny.

I picked THG (The Hospital Group). They are not the cheapest and the attitude of the "patient care" people leaves something to be desired but the op itself went really well.

I went with the hospital group and have had a great experience and aftercare

Hi Polly

You really need to speak to some of the providers to see if they can still do a band, as you have already had the wrap. Would it be more like revision surgery ie removing the wrap first - this would mean even more expense if so.

Sorry to put a downer on things, hope you get some positive feedback xx

I went with the hospital group, I agree totally with the above !! Good luck xx

Another vote for Wls group from me, great aftercare which is essential with a band but Mazza makes a valid point!

Sent from my iPad using WLSurgery

I totally agree with mazza, but i really would speak with your original provider tell them the situation your in and ask if it is still possible for you to have the band and they may be able to revise your surgery for you .

I went with the hospital group, I cant fault the service I got at the hospital, the nurses were great, one of the surgeons even held my hand because he could tell I was panicing when i got on the operating table. Up to now ive had a great experience with them, just hope the money I paid is worth it xx

got speaking to a few providers today and no one will even consider me for the band without my records, so i have contacted a solicitor to try and get them for me as the clinic wont return my calls or emails... its a disaster!!!

Did the clinic send copies of their notes to your GP? All of the providers I have looked at / talked to had said something about ensuring that my GP has full notes from them.

Is that another way of getting the information for you without having to go to the expense of solicitors?

No I have been trying to get my details from clinic from end of feb/march and they won't return my calls or emails. Legal route seams to be only option left! At this stage I just want them to move on

sorry to read about your experience. i really hope you get sorted. the legal route is experience but i bet its the only route left in your situation. all the best xx

Hi Polly, if once you have discussed this with your provide and you are able to have the gastric band after having the gastric sleeve I can recommend going with the wls group. I went to Brussels and had dr marc focquet. He was brilliant. If you have any more questions I'd be happy to help x x x hope all goes well

The hospital group are doing a band for 5000 pounds , I went with them as they are the cheapest and have a good rep xxxxx
