Hi Cah-ching, I've seen you about, but not really sure of the full story - maybe if you tell us what has happened we can help? What have the professionals said? What have you tried?
Hi Cah-ching, I've seen you about, but not really sure of the full story - maybe if you tell us what has happened we can help? What have the professionals said? What have you tried?
I was ill when I first had the band placed. My fills were slow. My best weight loss was 66lbs. I've gained 37lbs of that. I was exercising regularly
Then I moved abroad to live for work - the life hasn't helped me psychologically and I'm alone and find myself comfort eating. I joined a gym - despite the expense, but my zeal isn't there like it was (see my posting history to see how vociferous I was about exercise) - this is in part because I have no banter there (lame excuse) and the language barrier is a problem - I speak French but not conversational French and the people just aren't forthcoming, plus the gym is rubbish.
I found my eating coincided with my exercise and complemented each other. On top of that I had a double brain seizure last year and was told not to exercise which really inhibited me until I got the all clear. I'm now on hormone medication because of an increasingly worsening problem.
My band has about 9ml in (10ml band AFAIK). I can't afford to defill - I'm broke.
My gosh What a horrid time of it you've had - I've had a look at your losses and gains history - and you've not gained more than 2 lbs in the last two months. Despite the stuff you've been going through.
Well done for coming on here and asking for help. Firstly do you mind if I ask how you're getting on with your band - as in do you get restriction, can you eat healthy foods etc?
One thing you could do on the exercise front is see if there are other things you like to do such as walking, dancing or swimming?
Considering everything you've been through I think you've done really well to slow the rate of regain, and it sounds like you know what you should be doing, but you've been beaten to hell and back by that thing called life!
I really don't know what I can say to comfort you. You've had it rough especially if you have no support in France. There have been people from France on the forum, hopefully one of them will contact you. I am very new to the band and have just developed gallbladder and liver problems. I am only telling you this because sometimes we think that everyone else has an easy ride. I am one of the most negative people around and I always think I am the only one who has it bad. I tend to come on here and then suddenly there are six other people telling me they have the same problem. I am not saying this to to belittle you in anyway.... We can only type so much on a forum and we never know all the back story.
I really hope that some one can give you some really proactive advice. But keep writing, it always helps to share your worries.
