Which Surgeon or Clinic in the South West to choose?

Hello everyone,

I would greatly appreciate your help on choosing a clinic to have a gastric band fitted.

I have just been turned away by the NHS in Gloucester and I have decided to have the operation done privately. I just have no idea where to start with choosing a surgeon or a clinic and you advice will be invaluable.

The operations seem to range between £6000 and £7500. I'm not brave enough to have it done abroad. Also the aftercare packages do seem to vary between one year and two years? I am not looking for the cheapest package just the package that is right for me.

Have also been told that The Hospital Group are rubbish? Anybody with experience of them?

Have you considered Avon Obesity Service? They have a good reputation.

I had mine done by Mr Wellbourne at Nuffield Taunton and he and the team are great.
