WHY CAN'T ANYONE NOTICE YET? Sob :( (pics attached)

Disappearing slowly
Hi all,

8 weeks post op and feeling very good and noticing the weight loss in my clothes (though not as much as I'd like on the scales) but no one else seems to notice. My colleague is also loosing weight at the moment and even though he's lost half of what I have everyone keeps complimenting him and saying how good he looks. My boyfriend kind of suggested today that people are not giving me compliments because I took the 'easy way out' and am 'not doing it properly by myself'. Felt a bit rubbish after that so took some photos for the first time since my op to do a comparison.

I think I look different but wanted to know what you guys thought too... now let's see if I can attach them...

Lisa, you can definately notice the difference. Your smaller across the shoulders, your face is smaller and so is your tummy... It's definately working :D x

Your looking fantastic and have no way "taken the easy way out" you can tell such a difference in the pictures and to be honest the only person that counts is you, i have only just in this last week had people comment on that iv lost weight and iv waited that long for somone to comment that when they did i was a bit taken a back and didnt really know what to say lol you just keep on as you are because your a stunning young woman dont let the lack of peoples comments get you down x

I agree with Katastrophe you can definitely tell the difference across your shoulders and tummy.

yes, you can definitely notice the difference. WLS is definitely not the easy option, only a skinny, minny would say that. LOL

Thanks everyone x At least I know I'm not fooling myself now. And Rybens, that was a lovely thing to say - thank you x

I can definatly notice the difference in your pics your doing great and definatly did not take the easy way out wls is one of the biggest and hardest decisions you could have made in your life. keep it up your doing fab and looking great x

Definitely notice the difference. Don't worry about others. They are probably being nice and not wanting to bring it up all the time.

2 things that make me think this.

1) Having my hair cut the other day and nearly finished and mentioned about my appointment. My hairdresser had said she had been dying to talk about it but didn't know if I'd had enough of people asking about the operation and weight loss all the time.

2) Looking at some pics of me before the op with my fiancé and she said she knew love was blind but she can honestly say she never realised how big I was before the op! Maybe it's people close to you that just see you as a person rather than a 'size' and don't really notice.

Your a completely different shape and much smaller.
Any one who says this is the easy option is full of **** and needs to look up what we're all going through.

Your doing great Lisa, keep your chin up & when the other guy stops loosing and starts putting it back on again you can hold your head even higher x

Lisa, u look fab!! U can tell a difference from the neck up alone never mind neck down, which is where u can see the biggest difference!!

I think your fella is right when it comes to peoples ideas 'cos I work with several people who have gone thru WLS & have heard the catty, sarky comments! BUT!! I've also heard people say, just like Mixxy has said, that they dont know how to broach the subject, don't want to offend u etc.

You've lost over 4 stone in 2 months? Thats 1/2 stone per week!! Bl**dy hell if they havent noticed that they need a trip to Specsavers. Does ur place of work offer free eye tests, ha, ha!!!!

I have a skinny minny friend & after explaining the 'in's & out's' of WLS she has said she no way wld consider it an easy option!!

You look FABULOUS

Thanks again everyone x

Mixxy I hadn't thought of it that way so thanks...and J-Mo, actually I work in an opticians...only joking :)

Thanks for the lovely comments and for sharing your own thoughts everyone x

You're looking great! There is a noticeable difference in the two photos. As has been said before, it is often the people who see you most often that don't see you getting smaller - then one day it hits them.

Keep it up! xx

How anyone can say they cant see a difference is just plain stupid, you look loads slimmer, you have shrunk! You are doing great X

Yes there's a definite difference. Sometimes we don't accept ourselfs as smaller so I guess if we still think big so do others. As long as you can see a difference and feel a difference don't let the lack of comments from others get you down. Also as for the "easy way" what the f**k. We risk our lives having this op so this is definitely not an "easy" option. Keep smiling and enjoy the "baggy" clothes sweetheartxx

Lisa you can definitely see the difference and i am 100% certain your work colleagues have noticed... I personally think they aren't mentioning your weight loss as some people think the larger person find it embarassing to talk about their weight even when it's going down!

I'm betting if you go to work in a new outfit someone will say how great you are looking, they may not ask if you've lost weight because as it's still early days and not humungously noticeable as with Mixxy they might not want to cause offence if they're wrong... But they've noticed, and Hannah is absolutely right, you are gorgeous go get on with the weight loss and get ready for them all to take a double take girl x

You've already had some lovely compliments and advice, and yes you do look smaller.

I agree with Julie. People worry about commenting, they think we might take offence, or might not want to talk about it. I think also some people are jealous and dont want you to lose weight as people like having a fat friend.

Ive lost 7 1/2 stone now and still no one comments at work, except for my boss who tells me I look great. Its taken until now for one of my sisters to comment about my weight loss. Those that love me are proud of me and those are the people that count.

You can definitely tell there is a difference. No one outside of my immediately family didn't notice and mention my weight loss to me until I had lost around 5 stone. No one except my hubby knows about the surgery either.
