Started on Forceval today

Took the first one this morning and was promptly sick five minutes later

I open mine and squeeze the liquid out, I put it on the tip of a tea spoon. I then get something like slimfast (cafe-late is good) and put the liquid on the tip of my tongue and then swallow some slimfast. I hardly taste it like this.

Hope that helps

I find if I swallow it with milk that helps a lot.

Been on it for a month and only once had to spit it out. It is vile, but if you take it like Kizzy says it's usually fine..

I wasn't prescribed Forceval, we were just given a list of recommended vit/min supplements. From what you are saying I think I'm glad:O)

You shouldn't be. Forceval is the only really suitable multivit that will give you all you need each day. Try leaving them out of the wrapping for a few hours as this softens them up. Do not take this lightly we are incapable of absorbing all we need from our food and vitamin deficiency has very very serious consequences trust me. Stick with it

I will say when I first started on the horse size forceval tabs, they made me sickly but you get used to it and they are fine now.
But I do place all my vitamins/iron/calcium in my tablet dispenser and they do soften.
I would say keep with it,taking them as some other vitamin tablets(ie..chewy ones)ive heard people take are more for children and not good enough for us bypassers.

Thanks for all the help and advice, just about to try the 2nd one...

Will let you know if it makes me sick.

Take them with a spoonful of yogurt :) it helps them slide down & coats your tum at the same time :) as Karl says, they are essential & anyone who isn't on them needs to see their doctor to get them prescribed ... :):) xxx

I wasn't given them till 2/3months out so by that time I never had a problem but I always put them in length ways in hopes they will just slid down, it probably makes no difference lol.
Hope you find them easier soon hun x

Same result...

Weird thing is the pill/capsule doesn't come back up

I had the same problem with them , I am 13 weeks post op sleeve I now use holland and Barrett brand which are lot smaller and just as good x

Hi

Must admit I have not had any problems taking Forceval but I have had a bypass so the pouch is probably bigger than your sleeve so it can sit there untill it desolves, with a sleeve I can easily see it getting stuck. There are quite a few multi vits out there that are a lot smaller than Forceval and it might pay you to take something else for another month or so as you might be having these problems as your sleeve might still be a bit swollen as you are only a few weeks out of surgery. Take something else for another month and then try the forcevals again, also try to take them with more fluid if possible, as long as they are not getting stuck or else the extra fluid will only have one way to go, and that's back out the way it came in.

I thought a bypass pouch was an egg size, and a sleeve is more like a banana shape, therefore sleeves are able to hold much more food?
Or am I wrong? Just curious x
