Im Meellttinngg!! :)
Ok I know Im a whinger today and Im really sorry :(

But I am absolutley freezing, to the point I got the hot water bottle out today TODAY its scorching outside.

Any advice ? please !:(

Perhaps dress warmly, in layers, and have warm drinks or soup.

(If you find you are alternating sweaty and feeling hot, with also feeling cold perhaps you may be coming down with something).

Its normal to feel the cold after surgery. My friend had it and she used to sweat like crazy! Was really pleased.Layer up and keep the protein/vitamins topped up.The carbs keep you warm and what have you cut down on?

Def agree with B&B. A good friend of mine who had her bypass 4 yrs ago feels the cold big time, when i am boiling hot she is cold all the time.
Not sure if this happens to all bypass peeps hope it does not happen to me as wont be able to afford the gas bills :(

Yesterday I stayed in bed (and slept)till 5pm because I was so cold one minute and sweating the next. I had my pj's on and the quilt and within seconds I'd got the fan on. Unbelievable. Today I sussed it out and think I had a little sun stroke from being out at the stables all day on thursday when it was red hot. There's also loads of bugs/virus's going round at the moment so make sure you drink plenty and try to eat, it may warm you up abit. Hope you feel better tomorrowxx

Don't forget that as you lose weight, you also lose your own insulation.

I used to be the person walking in the snow in a t shirt, now since I lost 6 stone with band I am cold all the time, i'm now the person with a cardie on when everyones in t shirts...

Remember it takes your body time to adjust to this weight loss as well as your mind, but don't rule out being poorly first...hope you feel better soon xx

Hello Mrs - I have suffered gretly from being cold since my op - have written in threads about the amount of clothes I wear to bed and have had my central heating on weeks ago - had the wood burning stove on this week! It's all to do with the weight loss and nutrition you are getting - it will even out eventually, I will let you know what my surgeon says, I am goign to talk to him about it next weekend.

Stick your winter woolies on and cooch up on the sofa hun! xx

Hope you're feeling better if it was sunstroke - however I must say, being cold rather than boiling hot and sweating when out in company would be a welcome side effect to getting slimmer in my book!)

Thanks guys I did think it was the side effects of the bypass. ;)
I went to bed freezing, still had headache, woke up at about 2am roasting, went and got a drink and some paracetamol. Then woke up later dripping with sweat:( Flaming body !

B n B , erm cutting down, I was a carb fiend before surgery but yesterday the only thing I had was some mandarins and evap milk late last night. I really didnt want anything else. This morning going to make an effort and eat. Dont want to but will.

I might be coming down with something but Im leaning more towards it being me not drinking enough:rolleyes:

Since my op i have discovered the cold again!!!!! I make sure i dress in loads of layers also one of my best friends bought me a dinky hot water bottle for Christmas (it's about 8ins) and it can get into all those little nooks and cranny's that might need to be heated up. For 2wks after my op i wore my cashmere woollen gloves most days as my hands were like blocks of ice (they still come out whenever the hands get too cold) and at night i have a woollen shoulder wrap that i put on over my nightie when sitting up in bed to keep the top half of me warm.

Sending hugs and fairy dust to keep you warm xx

Hi there

I have found since I lost my 4 stone I feel the cold more. its par for the course when u lose weight as its ur own insulation, your body will adapt eventually once u reach target and maintain, its your bodies way of adapting and not shuting down . - hth - love Me Julie xx
