My op july 5th 2009 is still a date never to forget pushed out after 3 days with possible complications is not good as the bypass tube stitched to the new stomach perforated and split!
Rushed back in on 14th july and thought i was dying ,couldnt breath at all and blanked out, bodyfilled up with fluids weighing 2 and half stone and got septicemia and septic shock.
Spent 4 days in a coma and family were told i'd probably not recover twice in those days and that it was in the lap of the gods
Luckily i pulled through and spent 6 weeks in itu and another 4 weeks in hdu and 4 weeks on a normal ward but in that time it was still leaking slightly and nil by mouth for 4 months
In that time i lost my partner of 21 years as she got used to quietness at home and couldn't handle nursing stress, my business and thousands of pounds in cash supporting everyone while i was ill, then released november with open wound and then the crap started again
The wound got wider and developed into a massive hernia like half a football on my stomach which has had 2 skin grafts with no luck and now finally in in hospital again next week for major op cutting sides both and then stiching pigskin in and pulling all three wounds together and having 3 long scars hjopefully and a flat tum but at 80% im not celebrating with my luck.
Solicitors are involved as negligence can be proved so a long court case seems on the cards as im off work probably another twelve months disabled down left side and cant walk or sit for long so its ****ed my life up for 2 years or more and im not letting it lie.
So do think of the consequences fully of bypass surgery it can go wrong and kill you as a few cases are popping up more often now as it becomes more widespread.
