I have read this post quite differently - I read it as racism is really frowned upon and actually people generally are less likely to openly insult someone because of their heritage. It is far more acceptable in society to belittle someone for their looks!
Both are discriminatory, and surely, neither is worse than the other as they make people feel exactly the same - less than they are.
But you can't deny that predjudice against race is far less socially acceptable than predjudice against weight.
