Rory guys for tmi but not had a bm since before the bypass op on 15th. I have no desire to no pains apart from lower tummy a bit hard. Also period started 3 weeks early but scant and brown. They don't tell you about this when you first speak to a surgeon lol.

Remember that you are eating far less than you normally would so you will have far fewer bm than before. Also as you are still on the liquid stage there is very little 'waste' for your body to get rid of. Follow the instructions from your team and you should be fine. As for periods, I think we all had one after surgery wither it was due or not, as it messes with your hormones, it should settle down after a few months, fingers crossed.

Good luck with your journey :)

thanks jenny. I have been on purée since leaving hospital last Friday. Just getting worried now that things haven't been plumbed in right lol. I'm sure it will be fine

Wow straight on to puree, lucky you! I had to do 10 days of liquids after my op, just shows how different it is in each area. I was given lactulose to take for the first 14 days too, have you been given anything to take? If you are at all worried get in touch with your provider, im sure all the 'plumbing' is in place it just takes a little while to all settle down.

You can get actual lactulose from chemist...you would need to check sugar free tho??? Check with your team but it's given to babies & terminally ill cancer patients due to it being do mild on tummy xxx
