Shrinking away nicely :)
Hi all firstly thank u so much for all ur posts and support and concern, sorry did not update sooner.
Well i got an emergency app yesterday with another of the surgeons in my team who also is a GI specialist.
My good friend Caroline1061 came with me for support and to make sure i was taken seriously.
Well he looked at my alien belly and said it is not a hernia but fat distribution, i was gobsmacked and so was Caroline, i said this is not possible as this has gone from an indent in my tummy to a proper round ish belly which starts just above my highest scar and is the shape of a rugby ball and each side of my alien belly is identical in shape, that is growing week by week.
After we said this he then said what problems are u having and i told him.
1. Pain just above my first scar and it moves about and is like a griping pain
2. Bad pain in my lower back very centralised ( this is nothing like any back pain i have had b4)
3. Burning sensation in my tummy where my wounds are
4. Trouble eating as feel full and sick after a couple of mouthfuls
5. Serious burping/farting after any food or drink and hrs after
6. Pouch gurgling bad after any food or drink and for hrs after (had this early post op but nothing like this)
So to cut a long boring story short he has booked me in for an urgent CT scan and is looking for 3 things
1.bowel blockage
2.Stricture
3.internal hernia which is diff from normal hernia
So waiting for a call for a date for the ct, and if its none of the above then who knows, maybe am just falling apart big time.
Will let u all know more if and when i get a diagnosis, thankfully my surgeon is back in Sept so if no luck with Mr Heath then def get an app to see my surgeon who is head of the bariatric and gi team.
At the mo dont feel 2 good but hey it could be a lot worse lol, i am reverting back to liquids only from tomorrow to see if i am still getting any of these pains when solids are not in the equation and maybe this will help them diagnose the problem and hopefully kick start losses again. One positive thing is that he said he is very pleased with my losses as i have lost 66lbs (4.10 stone) since day of op 5 months ago, bearing in mind i have had over 8 weeks of stalls, and it would of been 76lbs (5.6 stone) lost but the past week i have gained 10lbs god knows how as not been able to eat loads much since the alien has grown, so poss bad water retention as Totm is also due any day.
Ty to all of u xxx
