Post op Sleever
Cmon now, stop messing around. I'm 3 days post op and I'm still overweight! Hurry up already and disappear fat!
I was expecting a Dr. Who style fat loss obviously.

Thx Maria! It doesn't help that I'm too impatient and weighing myself every couple of days. I actually found myself heavier immediately post op than pre op. What's that about?!

Woah! 25 lbs! Is that pre & post op or just post-op?

Wow 25 lbs in 17 days my god that's brill is that all post op :D I am 7 weeks post op and my weigh day is tomorrow eeeek am nervous and excited all at the same time x

Yea that was all post op. I'm mostly drinking protein shakes for meals plus my water. I go to the gym a few times a week and walk the treadmill for about 30 minutes.

I'm at the end of my 6th day post sleeve and had a rubbish day after over doing it by seeing friends last night and going to tesco this morning. Although I've not had much pain generally, my wounds/staples are really sore at the moment. I really want to go to the gym but don't think its a good idea yet. My team were advising light gym after 4-6 weeks so at 17 days is awesome!

That's true. When I do too much I feel it in my abdomen. My doctor advises that I can use the treadmill or stationary bike at the gym as well as walking outdoors. I think I need to wait 3-4 months to work my core.

Think my main problem Maria is that at 30+stone I have a large tummy to support. So even walking around pulls on my staples. I'm waiting for them to come out on Friday and I'll take it from there. But every few days is another pound or two less to shift, so there is a silver lining ;)

Hi suzeward glad you are on the losing team side how are you feeling apart from your wound site.
How are the emotions, do you feel hungry etc. I will be sleeved in the morning.

Hi Jackie, the main problem I have is from a recurring trapped nerve in my left hip. Its far more painful and inconvenient than the surgery.
Emotionally I feel ok. I have had a couple of weepy/snappy moments but I've also had my period this week and my kids bugging the h+ll out of me. So really no surprise there.
I'm impatient to be up and about because I don't feel like I've had major surgery. I have to really listen to the abdominal ache to know when to take it easy.
I've only lost a couple of lbs in 7 days but I've just measured my waist and it's 2.5 inches off! Really happy with that.
Don't feel hungry at all. Went to Italian restaurant on Sunday night with family & friends. Watched everyone else tuck into MASSIVE meals while I sipped a hot chocolate and didn't feel robbed or unfair, just really enjoyed the company. (my friends all know about the surgery).
Good luck for your surgery, 7 days on and I think it's great. X

I love that you don't feel that you have had major surgery what a woman. I am just looking forward to a cup of tea after surgery and soup when I get home.
Thank you and I wish you a speedy recovery in your trapped nerve and surgery.

Bear in mind that I'm still in bed this morning!

Ok so now nearly 4 weeks out, weight lost 31lbs (inc 11lbs pre op). That's 10% of my excess weight so a long way to go. Trying that Italian restaurant again tonight only this time I'll be eating. Planning on asking for a side plate with my meal and then taking just what I want and getting the rest boxed up to take home.

Italian a success! Starter: caprese - ate one slice of beef tomato with mozzarella. Main: spaghetti marinara - asked for half portion and ate about a third of that. Pudding: cherry ice cream and a hot chocolate - ate and drank about half of each having asked for half size portions to begin with.
Ate slowly, stopped when I could have had one spoon more of each course. All in all I feel pretty damn good about myself. Oh and I also had a 125ml glass of rose. Go me!
