Donna, you'll need a couple of nighties n a dressing gown, nas squash, dry mouth spray (from Boots), deflatine or windeze (to help with the wind pains) and some warm slippers in this weather...

Take it from me you won't want to read or go online...

Good luck hun, i be thinking about you and if you want to know anything just ask me on here or FB! xxx

Awww thanks Julie, your very kind.

Thats the mags out of the question. Im gonna send u a private msg on fb if you dont mind.

Thanks xx

Thinking of you Donna and keep in touch... it will soon be here now and soon be done...

I always have to take my music along with me to hospital stays and plenty of credit on your mobile, so you can keep in touch, it's going to be a new world for you and I'm so happy that you'll be joining the losers bench...

Love and hugs always, and always at your side,
Bev xxx

Thanks Bev,

<<< Will remember to pack my headphones, cheers

Where are you in Staffordshire Donna?

Thinking of you, Bev xxx

Rugeley,

Cheers xx

I read lots, magazines rather than books because they are short stories!

I took a couple of mags and a book you can pass the mags on when you've finished them, wet wipes are a god send, a 500ml bottle of water with a sports top as they always ask how much you are drinking.

Hi Donna, you are south Staffs then...

Good luck love and relax while you can and build yourself up...

Sending a humungous hug and love to you... take good care

earplugs! just incase you're in a ward with a snorer.

just wanted to wish you luck luv on your journey! your op is drawing near and im sure your a little nervous, youl be fine tho - cant wait to read how you get on, good luck xxxxx

I always say take more nighties, knickers and pads/panty liners than you think you'll need, in case of stress incontinence if you get a bit pukey.

Other than that, I love my ipod, and I played it at night too so I fell asleep with music and it drowned out the snoring.

If you have such a thing...or if not Claire's accessories sell them..one thing I wish I'd had - an eye mask to cut out light. Often hospitals are a bit bright even at night!

flip-flops/crocks to keep your feet dry out of the shower.....

a bed-jacket/fleece jacket/cardigan in case the ward is cool (I was hot and cold intermittently)

and tissues.

And something super comfy clothes wise to come home in. I took a velour jog suit.

And I'll be thinking of you Donna. Hugs xxxx

Thanks for posting this, we are op buddies, I too go in on 29th for op on 30th and I wouldn't have thought of some of these things! How are you doing Donna?

My bag contained tracksuit to come home in that was 2 sizes to big but fit perfect with all the swelling, I brought asda tracky bottoms as there cheap enough to throw away :)
I took a couple of nighties again bigger sizes you will be amazed how much swelling you have. slippers, dressing gown, shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush, hairbrush, towel and a must is dry mouth spray, get it from the dental section in boots its about £2.50 a bottle if I could choose just one thing to take with me it would be this I couldn't have coped without it.

Most of all be calm and ready to take on the next stage of your life you wont regret it and as I said to you at the meetings I would do it all again in a heart beat and regret nothing even the bad days :)

Good luck hun

I think you have a long list of what to take but my advice is whenever the offer you pain relief, and you need it, take it.

I am a firm believer that pain free patients heal a lot quicker so whatever you do dont be brave.

Good luck hun. xxxxxx
