Hi Tracie
I was advised it could be up to 4 hours, I was actually there for 2. I was weighed first and had my height taken so they could calculate my BMI.
Then I saw Mr Mira and he asked me medical history questions and explained each of the procedures in turn, giving me handouts on each. Then I saw Dr Hartland who explained that you need to see several specialists before surgery to make sure that you are well informed and understand the surgery, the risks, the benefits, the diet before and after surgery and that you generally understand what's going on. After that he re-explained the three procedures with helpful diagrams and told me I didn't *need* to make my mind up then and there (I've already chosen sleeve as it has the most benefit for diabetics) when I told him my reasons for choosing sleeve, he agreed and took thw other two leaflets back lol
Then I was given a mental health/physical exercise questionnaire to complete and once that was done I saw the dietician who gave me some dietary advice and a target weight loss.
After that I had bloods taken and was sent home.
Quite a lot was done really and it went pretty quickly. I was in for 9.05 and home by 11.15 (I live in Wolverhampton)
