ARE THEY CRAZY??!!?!?!?!?! No one mention injecting myself???????

OMG no-one mentioned this before I'm glad I found this site so much more REAL info.

Now just got to get my head around it................... where's those stockings???

LOL good luck Sarah.. I hope you stay with us. Ive only really re-found this site in the last couple of weeks but already the support and advice has been invaluable. Seeing things from someone elses point of view is all that is needed to put things in prespective ...sometimes..

At my pre op they told me that if I can't face doing it myself then I can get the district nurse to come and do it for me, he also said I could have it in my leg if I didnt fancy injecting my stomach :) xx

I'm planning on sticking around Leigh, this op is goig to happen and I want as much info as possible.

My family are an amazing support, however they are not actually planning on the op are they?. Reading the posts here helps me put things in the right place in my mind....does that make sense? not sure I think I'm probably over thinking loads of stuff nowadays. The whys, the should I's etc etc.

Leigh Mr Magee is nice and Mr Kerrigan is one of the best at his job.I was done by him and had no problems.Maz x

Hope that you get everything sorted out. Have you thought about hypnosis if they say you have to inject into the stomach. It might be worth you talking to your local pharmacist as they will know if you can inject into another site other than the stomach.

Oh boy do i relate to this...i am a master of the overthinkers i assure you...ut if im honest im not sure its such a bad thing in this instance, better to overthink and ask all kinds of questions then sit quietly and worry at the last minute coz you dont know...

I always tell my kids better to ask a million seemingly silly questions then spend a moment wishing you had

My Mom sent me to a hypnotist when i was younger...she couldnt put me under...said i was too strong willed...hmmm yes very strong willed thats why i ended up needing bariatric surgery pfft

It could also be that you didn't trust her and therefore wouldn't go under, or she could have been a rubbish hypnotherapist. It might be worth trying again with someone different. I'm sure the pharmacist will be able to give you some good guidance re sites of injection.

the stomachs used because you get an even dose of the medication ..............if you use your legs theres less fatty tissue to slow the intake of the medication ;) type 2 diabetic on insulin ............ make sure you rotate the sites of injection as you can get lumps and bumps

I have to inject 4 times a day and choose to do it in my tummy as thats the place it dont hurt, believe you me i have tried the legs and it hurts more !!

I had the same injections every day through pregnancy, and some of them were in the leg instead of tummy. I had a practice nurse do them each day, and the walk in centre at weekends.
