I'm in the US and my dietician doesn't allow us to do the injection. I am not post op yet but the rule my surgeon requires is 3,000mcg b12 sublingually every week. Do you not have sublingual b12 in the uk?
I havent heard of B12 being taken under the tongue before. It is normal (i think) to have the injection here. I have mine done by the nurse at my doctors surgery. We don't administer it ourselves.

Sublingual B12 drops are available at Puritan's Pride: ENER-B® SHOT B-12 Puritan United Kingdom
I've been taking these now and again in between my injections and just got the results of last weeks blood tests which show my B12 levels are now too high.
I'm not saying the drops could be used as a substitute for the injections but anyone not being prescribed the injections may benefit from trying the drops.
BTW Puritans Pride are also a great source for Biotin etc.
