You may be able to get free next day delivery from some sellers on amazon. Why are they asking you to supply your own? Have you had a positive swab test or something ?
Chlorexidine should be used for atleast 4 days prior to admission. Is this following positive colonisation? If the hospital didn't provide it just ring your gp in the morning and they should hook you up
I got a 250ml bottle from the pharmacy and had to use 3 days before and while I was in the hospital - dry's your skin up like a nuns chuff! Hibiscrub/chlorhexidine same difference. Good luck and don't forget your moisturiser!!
You don't have to use it for all hospitals. You don't have to for St.Richards funky. I have to use hibiscrub a lot for work and it drys my hands out quite a bit so definitely use lots of moisturiser afterwards x
Ladies it does not stop MRSA - what it does is decrease you bodies own skin flora that could make you more suseptible to a post op infection once it gets in one of your wounds... that could then turn out to be an MRSA !
Nothing beats making sure who ever comes near you has washed their hands first - it's all about minimising risk, to you the patient and to the hospital as they don't like bugs either as it costs them money!
x
I have the stuff that they give you to get rid of it. My Mum caught it after her ankle was pinned and they gave it to her. It's antibacterial and is better than domestos lol
